Who cares? That doesn’t change anything

Those laws are for hunting or target shooting
That may have been the intent of the law, but its poorly written and does leave wiggle room.

The DA had him testify he wasn't doing target shooting.
The DA had him testify that he played Call of Duty with his bros... I wouldn't take the DA's line of questioning seriously.

they had every right to try and stop arbery.
2010 Georgia Code
TITLE 17 - CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
CHAPTER 4 - ARREST OF PERSONS
ARTICLE 4 - ARREST BY PRIVATE PERSONS
§ 17-4-60 - Grounds for arrest
O.C.G.A. 17-4-60 (2010)
17-4-60. Grounds for arrest
"A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge. If the offense is a felony and the offender is escaping or attempting to escape, a private person may arrest him upon reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion."
arbery was on caught on video numerous times inside that house before he was shot. during the day and at night. a firearm (reported) and $2k in fishing goods (not reported) were stolen during the break-ins.
travis confronted arbery on at least one occasion. travis called 911 and arbery managed to escape that time.
the day of the shooting, travis called 911 again and said there is a black male running down the street and there were several break-ins in the neighborhood. they thought he was a burglar and just robbed the house under construction. travis can be heard telling arbery to stop. we just want to talk. arbery attacked instead of stopping and waiting for the police.
read the law again. they had the right to stop him.

Strange, but there weren't nearly as many incidents back then.
Pretty sure the crime rate was worse in 1971. I'll look up the data when I get back on a computer

They did have a right to stop and hold him for police.
He wasn't jogging.
These two statements are not debatable. They are FACT.
You can be upset Arbery is dead. But he chose to not comply and go for a loaded weapon. And yes, that is tragic, but it's not murder. Don't care how much the left tells you it is, it's not. At best, these guys are facing manslaughter.
Nobody, not one person, would give two shits about this case if the race construction were any different than what it is.

Neither apply, so no.
Clearly they were not present. That should not be an argument.
How did they have IMMEDIATE knowledge of the alleged crime?

How old was he during this incident?
There's an exception for long rifles for minors because it's such a big hunting state.
quote:
The prosecutors counter that, having not yet attained the age of 18 at the time, Rittenhouse’s possession was unlawful — a misdemeanor. But the controlling statute, a densely worded muddle that prohibits most gun possession by minors, appears to exempt long guns. The law is so vague, in any event, that a conviction based on it is apt to be constitutionally unstable.

This is from a recent article, but this aspect of the case has been determined since about the day after the incident.
Try another angle for your retarded gotcha.

Why is society so vested in the killing of these three thugs within the Arbrey and Rittenhouse trials?
The country/world is a better place without this pond scum.

Disagree. To me this one is a lot like the Alabama rednecks who shot their neighbor over trash being in the wrong spot.
It's idiots like this and the Arbery case who are trying to claim self defense after starting a fight that make it difficult when real self defense cases come up such as Kyle Rittenhouse.
These dumbasses only give more fuel to the left to hate guns more and try harder to find ways to get rid of personal gun ownership.

they saw arbery running out of the house that had been burglarized in the past.
that is where the boat was stored and the fishing gear was stolen from.

Was the fishing gear brought up in trial? Heard it claimed, just never saw evidence that 2k worth of fishing gear was stolen.

There was no felony. So they couldn’t have direct knowledge of a felony. You can’t have direct knowledge of an imaginary crime. It’s the opposite of direct knowledge. They had indirect supposition of a crime.

burglary is a felony.
that house had been burglarized.
arbery was seen running out of that house the day he was shot. he was a suspected burglar. a felon.
