Hebrews 4:15-16 (NIV)
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Tempted by sin, Jesus was like us. But He did not sin.

My message, to which you are replying, was sarcastic. But do, go on.

Thanks for making my point for me
He was tempted, and did not sin. He doesnt understand why we continually give into the flesh
He doesnt get us. Not at all in the way those ads portray us

You are correct. He had to die to fulfill God's plan for us. My inference was that he didn't have to. He could have called down an army of angels to thwart the crucifixion, but that wasn't part of the plan.

Jesus said that if we love Him, we will obey His commands.
“Jesus” is a fictional character.
quote:
some man-made version of Him.
When Paul was writing his congregations about the shite stirring that that “super apostles” Peter and James were doing, Paul never responds to an argument that Paul “only” knew Jesus through visions and hallucinations but that James and Peter had walked with Jesus and broke bread with him. Paul wrote “am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Kyrios???” Paul made that argument that he knows Jesus just like all the apostles - through dreams and visions - and specifically not through word of mouth or anything from any man.
“Jesus” was just a version of Yahweh the great angel of Israel, son of El Elyon, that became incarnate in flesh made by El from the sperm of David, and he sent Yahweh down through the 7 heavens where he was killed in the lowest firmament by the archons of this aeon (other deities in the sky). Only after being resurrected by his father El was he highly exalted to the right hand of El and earned his name “Jesus”.
Most early Christians, especially Jewish Christians, understood this theology. Then someone - we don’t know who - wrote what we call the “gospel according to Mark” which is a fan fiction historicized account of what Paul and Clement of Rome and the real Peter and James “knew” of what really happened in the heavens. There is proof…
2 Peter 1:16
quote:
For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
So this is pseudepigrapha (not written by the historical Peter) but it is written by a Christian to another Christian and it is responding to claims that the authors’ sect is following the gospels of the Jesus character walking on earth. The recipient of this letter is a Christian more akin to Paul and Clement and the real Paul and Peter who worshipped the celestial Jesus and not the one spitting in peoples’ eyes.

If Jesus did not get us basically understand the sinner the poor and downtrodden, then instead wouldn't He be hanging out with the Pharisees and the Sadducee and looking down on us like they did? Instead He hung out with the thieves and prostitutes the sinners which irritated the Pharisees.
Jesus drank from the cup of wrath so that our sins could be forgiven and so that we may drink of the cup of salvation and experience God's love for us.
Jesus knew we could not obey all the Laws. I'm leary of legalistic churches.

The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
So then why didn't He just destroy human beings and start all over again? Why did He chose to save human beings?

Yes, the Lord gets us but we are fallen beings in need of the Savior, who is Jesus Christ.
A pastor put this together a couple of years ago after the Superbowl. I believe it is called "He saves us." Please watch. It is a minute long.
LINK
Also, it is the responsibility of every Christian to share the gospel - the good news - Of Jesus.
Happy Resurrection Day. And P.S. Everyone will meet Jesus, some before death as Savior, others after death in judgment.

That cup of salvation only comes to those who accept Christ.
If you accept Christ there is good fruit, which includes following his laws.
For if we love Christ we would want to please him.
If God says something is detestable, how could we possibly please him by calling it good.
Of course we all fail, and then we confess our sins, take his hand and rise again toward his glory.
But what we don't do is deny his authority over our lives.

uh, he did (see: the flood, Sodom, Gomorah, Baal, Egyptians)
uh, grace (see Noah, Moses, Abraham, Rahab, Joseph, David)
