Someone has to be willing to wait out a lower salary existence and the decidedly delayed hiring process in order to do it.

The pot at the end of the rainbow ain’t bad but most people can’t afford to wait months between a posting and getting the job.

But is this really isolated to capital city/state governments?

That is where government jobs are located, so yes.

No, the claim is that state and federal governments are bloated to all hell, and employ thousands and thousands of people with bare bones education to do meaningless bureaucratic/administrative tasks.

At issue here is the assertion in the OP that it is worse in capital cities. I don’t believe that. Actually, I don’t even know what it means. He used a plural form, although there is only one US capital. Does that mean he is including state capitals?

So New Orleans is not as bad as Baton Rouge; Austin is worse than Houston; Atlanta is better than Athens? WTF is he trying to say?

There are government jobs in every parish in Louisiana and multiple municipalities. They aren’t only located in state capitals and DC.

Welll, now that i look on Google that may be about right as for an avg but leaning more toward high end and skilled govt jobs, and not those specific desk type jobs in the capitol cites .

The difference is dramatically different in the cities with a capital than those without.
