Have they given a percentage of it's effectiveness?

My wife claims they have said as much

but I don't recall hearing it from the top...

Maybe it's because I don't listen to this Administration...

the point being

they need to level with the American people

if new data shows it's kind of so so on effectiveness, then tell us

Roy Cooper told NC today that un-vaccinated people are the reason the Delta variant is a problem.

is there any data to prove it?

I am at a point of let it run it's coarse...let us build natural immunity if the vaccine isn't all that...

In time, they will confirm that the vaccine isn't a vaccine, it's a prophylactic biotherapeutic.

Antibodies aren't being raised to a killed/attenuated virus with these shots.

At this point roughly 40-80% of the population has had covid at least once, in India over 2/3rds are testing for antibodies still. I would be very suspect on data at this point without someone explaining a detailed methodology of how they are figuring all this out, including new strains.

If the vaccine is so effective, than I'm not sure what the purpose of masks are.

When it was first announced in November, they gave the figure 95% effective. Of course, that was before thousands of people died and hundreds of thousands had other adverse reactions from the injection.

They repeated the 95% effective stat in an audio clip I heard today.

tested positive for covid in jan. of this year. tested negative for the antibodies Tuesday. Got my first shot of vaccine today. I can barely smell after 8 months, i do not want to loose my sense of taste or what's left of my sense of smell if i get covid again now that i dont have the antibodies.

Well, I have no problem with that, of course, everyone is on their own. That doesn't mean your path will help either. Its your life, you need to do what you need to do.

That number will only go up, not down, with all the vaccine hesitancy. I can't wait until they say it's 110% effective.

i just dont understand it all. let unvaccinated people alone. if they dont want it fine. if you have the vaccine you should be ok with thier choice, because you have a vaccine. if the vaccine doesnt prevent me from getting covid a second time, in my mind i did all i could to prevent it.

220% after that second dose. In fact, with a booster, your body will train the virus to seek and destroy its own kind, basically making you a superhero. Most importantly, your complementary magnet to stick on your arm has a QR code on it to make sure everyone knows how heroic and special you are on IG

I believe NEJM said vaccines with 2 doses were 94% against wild type and 88% against delta.

Are those figures based only on the criteria of lessening symptoms? Not complete prevention of covid, right? That's the way I understand it.

Yeah but it was a bs study performed by the companies that are making the vaccines. The Main study by Pfizer showing 96 percent or whatever tested 40k people but stopped the study after less than 100 became ill and said like 26had not been vaccinated and 1 had been then extrapolated that it is 96 percent effective.
