Has anyone here besides me ever gotten in trouble at work for social media posts?

I got doxxed in early 2020

During the Trump impeachment hearings a bunch of loser redditors didnt like the pro Trump posts I was making in /r/politics about the impeachment hearings so they doxxed me and en masse called the TV station I was working for at the time. For an entire day the phone was ringing off the hook and the poor receptionist could only handle so much and overflow call traffic was being routed to the assignment desk

Whats funny is the horrible comment in question they were using in their calls to the station was a nearly 2 year old post where I stated I didn't think Christine Blasey Ford was credible. They were asking the TV station why they employed someone who "doesn't believe female rape victims and supports rape". That's the WORST comment they could find combing through my entire reddit posting history

I ended up getting suspended while the company I worked for did their investigation. After being suspended for a week it turns out the company I worked for determined I did nothing wrong and cleared me of any wrong doing... but suspended me for an additional week anyway to quell the mob of lefty co workers I worked with who wanted me fired and to teach me a lesson not to "leave a trail" when making social media posts.

Upon return I was ostracized and a total outcast at the TV station and no one wanted anything to do with me. Fortunately COVID hit a few weeks later so I only had to deal with that hostility for a short time. My co workers were so butthurt I wasn't fired.

That's why I have no sympathy for the lefties being fired right now from their jobs. They damn well supported the persecution of people like me for so long for tame social media posts. Sow the wind reap the whirlwind

Nope

My Profile when I used social media was always private. This was even before I started my career.

I didnt trust it back then, definitely dont trust it now.

Even for the account I still have on FaceBook, it's only used for keeping up with notices from our neighbors about get togethers and yard sales or if someone needs help.

I still tell people I work with that send me requests that I do not follow or friend anyone I work with for any reason and it's always been that way.

What we are doing is entirely different from them. We are taking an action done at present, and holding them accountable. That’s justice.

They wanted to crucify you for your past, even if you had already repented. This was also based on usually subjective morals and fueled by hate. The hate can be confirmed by their final method.

No; however, if they saw some of the reels that I share with friends, I'd probably be asked to retire.

Close. Long time ago, 15-20 years maybe, somebody did some Internet sleuthing on a message board and tracked me down, or so they thought. There was a discussion about giving to a charity/ relief group, and they simply tracked the timestamps of who donated , when and they narrowed my location down that way. Only thing was they were about 25 miles off, so it isn’t like they had my street address. Again, this was a while ago, but just that casual encounter was enough to make me realize just how unnerved some people get. And to pay attention to what you post, especially regarding your location.

No. I am able to exercise basic impulse control and don't feel the need to let the entire world know my every fleeting thought.

IIRC: I remember even before this happened me posting to you that you were giving way too much info out online and you were vlogging, correct?

Even on this site don't give out personal info. There are weirdos that take notes.
