Harris County: Run By Idiots

I’m really sick of it
We have Lina Hidalgo, Spanish translator turned county judge because of Beto turnout, making shite up to keep things closed.
I am an internal medicine doctor in one of the largest hospitals in Harris county. We have never have more than 30 patients hospitalized with covid19 (thankfully). Last week, Hidalgo said hospitals were nearing capacity (most hospitals are less than 50%).
She built a mash hospital that could cost up to $60 million that was never going to be used based on any predictions. It will be closed next week without treating a single patient.
There have been 150 deaths since this all started in the Greater Houston area. Things are only going to get better at this point.
Instead of getting things back to normal, what does she do? Makes wearing masks mandatory in public for a MONTH!
I’m sick of all of the lies and disinformation. It is time to get things back open and getting back to normal again. This isn’t New York

True. I am defenitely paying more attention to county level politics after this.

She is the County Judge because local Dem establishment-types thought incumbent Republican Ed Emmett was unbeatable and stayed out of the race, giving her the Dem nomination unopposed. Then she rode the unexpected downballot Beto wave through the general election.
