I understand Israel needs to sort this quickly but even as a supporter them saying intel reports is laughable when they just had the largest intel failure ever when this started.

Hamas has zero inhibitions about killing innocent people. They would stand to gain the most if Israel gets blamed and the global community turns on Israel. Doesn't mean it will work, but it has all the makings of a false flag by Hamas.
I'm not saying Israel wouldn't do it and blame it on an incredibly fortuitous missile barrage from Hamas giving them enough cover for plausible deniability.

I might be wrong but wouldn't they be spinning this into a necessary measurement if it was done by them and not claiming it was Hamas?
