Your friend is a moron, the fact he thinks being in uniform "40+ years" is some kind of special distinction shows he doesn't have a clue either. Hegseth is the SECDEF, he can address that brass as he sees fit.

Yes, he's a bit of a dick and he likes a spectacle, but this called for one IMO. Yeah, technically every instruction can be handled by an email but every single one of those leaders has called a mass formation for a mass arse chewing because sometimes you do that to make a point. They KNOW the height & weight standards and they're still not peer enforced at that level, so this was a good move IMO.

As soon as it’s a closed door meeting people would bitch about a “secret” meeting and leaks would happen to paint it in as bad of light as possible.
I (as a vet) love how it was handled. I spoke with my active duty spec ops son and he loved it. He said the only people bitching about it on the compound were the fat slobs.
I really like the every duty day PT requirement.

That was awesome and must be demanded of all soldiers. I would love to see the pay increased for those war fighters under the rank of corporal.

BS. If you have manages a staff of any size. You call everyone in and give them the same message.
My father would assemble his entire Squadron and lay down the law. Then the one on one’s that prompted the action.
I handled my staffs in the same manner.
You both ignore the fact that this military had been subjected to the worst performing leadership in decades, because the intent was to add men dressed as women to the ranks.
