Again, it is a South Korean plant being stood up in Georgia.

SpaceX is an American venture in America employing Americans. Whatever technology or know involved is American.

Now, if once the plant is up and running and Americans don't get jobs from it- that would be a big problem.

Americans aren't going to magically know how to set up, stand up, operate and maintain a Korean based operation without the initial help and training of Koreans on Korean technology and practice.

You say "a battery plant"... I say a KOREAN battery plant. A little training would be expected and is standard in multi-national outfits.

If anything that guy was saying is remotely true then tech firms wouldn’t be laying off American workers. They want cheap labor and their donations last fall gave them access to Trump. Simple as that.

It is what he referenced in the clip OP provided.

I watched to the end and It is what he said.

There are always these little niche cases which are used to justify the wholesale flooding of our labor markets with very technical jobs...

This is my concern.

I watched the clip... I can't iPad type at the speed of speech, but I'm pretty sure that's what was spoken of in that truncated clip.

He very well could be... but in this limited instance, I feel his words are being taken out of context.

It is awesome we have South Korea investing in building battery plants here- it is understandable that they would be needed to get it running and that this investment would benefit BOTH American and South Korean interests.

I can't speak to other H1B issues- but this is not the one to upset about.

Here is the deal, 99% of H1Bs fill jobs that don't require special talent. They fill jobs like data engineer, QA analyst, data analyst, junior software engineer, and other jobs that anyone with a STEM degree can easily do

You all act like every H1B is filling a position that requires Einstein level IQ and ability

I can't refute that.

What I can push back on is acting like Trump was speaking to all H1Bs in that clip- because he most certainly wasn't. That clip concerned a SK battery plant.

The difference now is that Trump is 5 years older, DJT2 appears checked out and is in Florida with his sexy socialite GF instead of in DC, Bannon has next to no influence. Who is MAGA and still has Trump's ear? A lot of us thought that Stephen Miller was on our side, but it seems like he always loses power struggles with neocon cabinet members.

I agree Trump used to hear his base and pivot, but were not seeing any hint of that in 2025.

He has family and other close associates that I think are pretty tuned into the maga sphere, his online base and such, don't you think they know and are telling him about these very discussions we are having here? I could be wrong, but these beliefs seem pretty prevalent.
