My son had a fraternity brother from Calgary who said Alberta and the other Prairie Provinces would love to secede from Canada and join the USA. They hate Ottaway in general and Trudeau particular in that part of the county.

Saskatchewan has a land mass of 251,000 square miles and 1 million people. Half the province has nearly no population and is bush/lake/mining territory.
The southern half is nearly all agricultural land. We have oil, potash, and uranium, world class fishing, white tail and mule deer hunting, water fowl, upland birds.
We have absolutely no say in a federal election because of our population but also basically ignore the federal government when possible.
Please accept our application.

Shucks, folks, thirty years ago those same provinces were talking secession from Toronto. (I was working there briefly and still have the t-shirt somewhere.) British Columbia was screaming liberal even then, and the oil province was also a prairie province with total support for the fed govt there that was ignoring them.
Now about the northern tier of provinces with few people and lots of potential resources......

Can we just give Canada the left coast and the liberal northeast, and we peacefully absorb Alberta and Saskatchewan?

I hunted in Alberta several years ago. I remember the people there would have fit well into Ouachita Parrish, minus the accents.

Oh yes there are! There is a Rebel flag on a house in Midale Saskatchewan that has been flying for at least 30 years. It's next to a machine shop that has an AR15 for a logo.
