A growing number of sheriffs in Texas say they are refusing to follow a recent executive order requiring masks in public. Governor Greg Abbott's mandate aims to slow the spread of coronavirus, as cases in the state soared past 200,000 on Tuesday.
Police officials in at least nine counties — including Denton, Houston, Montgomery, Gillespie, Upshur, Kerr, Gregg, Nacogdoches and Panola — said they will not impose the ruling with verbal or written citations. If an additional 9,286 patients hospitalized in a state of 30 million causes widespread panic perhaps there is something fundamentally wroing with the state's healthcare system.
How many of those patients would be in the hospital for something else anyway, since, you know, people are tested entering the hospital for any reason?

We know enough about Covid that we should be well past the point where people lament increasing case counts without subsequent symptoms, yet here we are, day after day, reading about MOAR CASES!!! The horror.
Everyone not in the at-risk group would be better off exposed, and positive. That’s about 85% of the population. Without immunity, we’re gonna be putting up with this schitt for a decade or more.
