It's a true paid vacation for most fed employees, and they whine about it.

Probably because many foolishly live beyond their means and paycheck to paycheck.

I’m all for it. Just wish the media would be honest. Fat chance of that though.

75% work from home since March 2020. Same as a vacation. Government is inefficient and ineffective when they’re in the office. Productivity of remote government workers is about the same percentage of kids in Baltimore proficient in math and reading.

Is it really still that high? I doubt it.

It was in the Wall Street Journal this morning. Biden implored them to return to work in August to no avail. It’s a major problem. It may begin the transfer of departments throughout the country. I hope so.

The study they cited was specific to headquarters, not as a whole.

But of course NPR and the Wall Street Journal can't be bothered to actually report it correctly.

Did Biden implore them to return to work while he was on one of his many vacations?

Not entirely true. I know for a fact that some federal employees will be paid in back pay - in full - when things reopen.

Most if not all, right?

So they get paid vacation in exchange for extending their employer a loan on the funds during the shutdown

I'm all for a shutdown. It can be weeks for all I care, not federal benefits to anyone, and no backpack. IOW, if you didn't earn it, you don't get it. It would save the US billions.

Yawn are we really doing this again? The same people cheer on the shut down almost every year then get upset when the government reopens and all their demands aren’t met

How do people not get tired of this nonsense
