I'm in a semi-rural town so not real worried at this point. I do have buddies in Atlanta and their attitude is "we've worked 40 years to accumulate what we have and if some SOB is gonna try and destroy it in one night he'd better think again". There are tons of people in the 'burbs that either feel the same way or are in the same situation.

Legal question: Not that I ever expect to ever see a violent riot in my neighborhood, but if you see arsonists attempting to ignite a neighbors house, with said neighbors inside, or physically attacking a friend or neighbor, and no police force is available, can you legally use deadly force from 50 yards out to protect them?
