One, you can believe that these folks are utterly convinced that puberty blockers and early physical transition will produce a better long-term quality of life than waiting to make those changes AFTER the body has matured into the form that the child, the parents and their physicians agree is the "wrong" form for that individual. (yes, yes, I understand that you don't think this is possible, but we are examining THEIR viewpoint, not yours).

frick their viewpoint based on fake arse data.

Covid data in 2020 was more trustworthy that the shot that YOU pushed as being legitimate (YOU cited a shite study, and then never admitted that you were duped, even when it was illustrated beyond question that you were).

Deflect all you like, but by citing that study, you all but confirmed that you are all aboard the dick removal train.

Parents have a right to abuse their children?

What you call abuse, trained medical professionals call treatment.

You're more than welcome to nod quietly while the government tells you how to raise your children, though. More power to you, raising kids is hard. I certainly see the appeal of offloading all that responsibility onto the government.

FIFY

You are just choosing to follow those that wish to abuse children.

You don’t have to, you are choosing to.

Yep. What’s sad is I k ow people who voted for him strictly because he promised teachers a pay raise (which would equal roughly $19 extra per week), while k owing he would hurt Louisiana’s oil & gas industry.

Note: teachers have not received a raise.

I really don’t understand the rush to push these kids into a decision before they are adults?

Where is the evidence of a “push”?

This is the same prick that said Louisiana needed to just accept all these green regulations that are coming down the pipe because they're going to be implemented no matter what.

I don’t love the guy, but I thought he said that we should pursue these industries if they’re going to be incentivized to the extent that they seem to be. I don’t really disagree. Green jobs won’t replace existing industry. Why should we not diversify our workforce and our economy? Last I checked, we’re losing population. Good jobs could attract more people.

Why would any small government conservative be upset by this?

Conservatism is a framework - not a prison cell.

People often set up straw-man versions of conservative thinking without really seeking to understand the intricate processes involved.

Most people work to arrive at balance points in making decisions, rather than being pigeonholed in lock-step ideological categories - devoid of substantive reason.
This is one situation which is not hard for most people to properly discern.
We have enough common sense to find it jarringly inconsistent that our laws ban an 18 year old from enjoying a beer, but allow a 12 year old to chemically and/or surgically self sterilize.
This is also the case where parents seek to permanently alter a child who is experiencing dysphoria which is commonly temporary or because they are seeking attention for themselves.
Yes, while we tend toward protecting liberty, we also recognize that children are not able to make major life decisions and there are reasonable limits on parental actions towards their children.
Especially a sad choice which often leads to depression and high likelihood of suicide in the future.

Parents hold these children in trust and should be accountable for that trust. We are not owners of an erector set.

Setting such permanent solutions aside until the subject person has arrived at the age of majority is a valid legal expectation for such a major decision.

You have way more trust in the government than any reasonable person should. I can't imagine thinking that the government has a better idea of how to parent their children than actual parents.

You dodged the question because it’s not the answer you want to give.

Protecting children from adults and adult decisions is one of the fundamental jobs of a government. We do it all the time. Otherwise, munchausen’s syndrome by proxy wouldn’t be a crime. You’re playing a stupid game with the word “conservative” and everyone should ignore you. fricking idiot.

I listened to a great podcast today with Tim Ballard, the person whose story was portrayed in the Sound of Freedom movie. He said to connect the dots. There is a connection between Democrats/liberals ideology of sexualizing children and child sex trafficking. It all feeds the ideology that children should be exposed to their weird sex/gender ideas.

Open your eyes, it’s everywhere. This gender ideology exploded overnight. We are arguing if it’s ok to cut the breasts off a 15 year old girl. You are saying it’s normal and totally ok for a doctor to do this. You are part of the push to normalize this behavior. I’m not arguing kids should be pumped full of puberty blockers at 12 years old or it’s ok to cut off the genitals of children. It’s sick.

Let's all reflect back to this first election, people. Dems vote for Dems. Case closed. They stick together. This is what they do.

You had Conservatives refuse to vote for David Vitter because he loved to visit hookers in DC & wherever. Never mind he is a true Conservative who has always voted exactly like a true Conservative votes. No questions on his voting history. So they had a chance back them to stop JBE in his tracks by voting for a Conservative who just happened to be an a-hole cheater but will govern exactly like a true Conservative. But no, they went ahead & voted for JBE. And here we are.......Just like we predicted. This insanity is why Louisiana will always be 49th out of 50 & someday 50 out of 50.
