Gordon Chang “Trump Surrendered to China”

Chang has been a huge trade war hawk appearing on several Fox shows.
I think he got the Chinese back to the talks after running them off in April and that is a good thing.
Chang is sort of a hero of the trade war proponents and for him to criticize Trump is a pretty big departure from his normal tone.

I think Trump realizes Xi is his best chance for a lasting substantive deal with China and considering how weakened Xi has been domestically, Trump is helping to prop him up with a "win".

Just watch and learn. Stop taking Trumps extreme positions as what he is trying to attain. He always overdoes everything in order to meet at a compromise close to what he wants.
Keep in mind that Trump created the ammo by which he is using as leverage to negotiate with China. In the past we would have given our own arse to be where we are.
