Wasn’t this in both?

No it was just in the Senate version.

Shouldn’t be an issue if so...

No. Speaker Ryan said that they didn't include it in their bill because they wanted to see if the Senate could pass something first. He said if the Senate included it, then he had the votes to include it in the House version as well.

No changes to CGT, except the elimination of 3 tax brackets, and the 20% begins at 35% bracket now instead of 33%.

So basically this:

Tax Bracket —— CGT
12% & 25% —— 15%
35% and 39.6% —— 20%

This cannot be right. The reason is because at the 12% tax bracket you would pay more in long term capital gains taxes at 15% than short terms capital gains taxed at ordinary income of 12%.

I’m a financial advisor in GA, and have a $600k mortgage. My SALT taxes are around $6,500-$7,000/yr on average. I’ll still get to deduct all of it. And I’ll get to write off 83% of my mortgage interest still. I’ll be saving about $5,000 on my income taxes too. My firm, which I’m one of 3 partners, has 25 employees. With the changes to corporate tax rates, I’ll be able to hire 4-5 more employees. But thanks for being an ignorant twit.

Historic tax credits should end. They are stupid special interest giveaways.

Here is a good summary of the differences that will be worked out in conference - LINK

I really like the Senate Bill more than the house bill. That's good, cause I feel like the Senate has a little more power.
