GOP elections are futile unless they adopt the ballot collection effort.

GOP leadership needs to match Democrat ballot collection efforts.

It's not about voting anymore. Getting up and physically going to the polls is old school.

The current scheme is hiring nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) with the staff to go out into the streets, universities, nursing homes, homeless encampments, etc., etc. and trade a pack of cigarettes and/or a bottle of whisky for peoples signatures. But you need the foot soldiers.

Collecting ballots is were it's at now. Voting is so yesterday.

If the GOP can break into the Democrat ballot collection scheme just 20% that is a game changer.

Perhaps.

But like any smart criminal they are already working on the "next thing."

And then watch as Democrats suddenly change the election laws...

And keep the same energy for Election Day in person voting.

This discussion may be a moot point because I’m not sure how many more election cycles will matter once they have total control. And we may be there in 2022.

If COVID election changes can’t be rolled back in several states then I agree.

But there is also this internal GOPe vs America First war within the GOP that was a huge factor. If that isn’t reconciled quickly, Dems may become the only relevant national party. In fact, it may be too late for the GOP if the Dems hold onto both the House and Senate this election.

This is what I think.

It doesn’t matter if the Republicans run Desantis- he is going to lose.

you are discounting the anti democracy effort of Ohio state legislatures to gerrymander so that although Ohio is majority democrat the shape of districts provides Ohio several more members of house than democrats.
you ok with that?

Just how stupid are you? Trump won Ohio in 2016 and 2020 and they have a Republican governor.

The only way for this to change is for the republicans to grow a set and fill the ballot boxes with more votes than voters across America. Do that for 2 cycles and watch the libs scream.

You can’t play fair anymore. Wait until Lake loses for no reason

Agree 100%

In rural areas there should be no excuses to start that yesterday. We need that for our voters, esp in areas that are far from drop boxes/voting stations and have sketchy mail service.

The closer you get to the cities it's a 2 part answer. We need the organization, but we also need to give them a reason to trust us, to get the ballots. Trust probably best accomplished, in the short term, by collecting with "non-partisan" organizations, that present themselves by supporting a local, purple-ish cause, not mentioning the GOP at all.

Start going to old folks homes and churches and collecting ballots in states that allow ballot harvesting. Dems will change tune real quick.

Not only collecting but also transporting.
Dumb Bell was floated with Obama/Holder money to bus students from SU, Xavier, etc. to the polls.
The GOP can't solely rely on folks going to the polls and need to get into this century with their voting strategies.

The GOP would be more effective if they broadened their platform rather than making it more exclusionary. You don't get more votes by excluding people. It's not complex math.

Nope.

The right needs to unite and stop bickering. Independents will decide all future races.

Republicans had this one in the bag, they just had the worst possible candidates run. When the "in your face" crowd goes back to the left, things will settle down.

When a friend had an excel sheet of registered PA voters and it showed people over the age of 80+, who had not voted in 16 years, all of a sudden voted in 2020, you knew ballot harvesting existed, especially in nursing home-style locations.

..until the SCOTUS supercharged the slut voting base, who want unfettered access to abortion, by overturning Roe vs Wade.
