DeSantis will make a good President. He just can’t beat Trump. I think he knows this and his plan is to run and then when he loses throw his support behind Trump endearing himself to Trump voters.
He then runs in 28 and wins the nomination.

I think he could. I wouldn't put any stock in polling right now. In 2015 Jeb! was the frontrunner by 30+ points. Look how that turned out.
I do keep thinking, that DeSantis needs to make a louder push, but seeing his campaign stops, looks like he's running a ground game, and you'll see more of a spotlight come Winter. I'm not a campaigning nerd, so i could be wrong.

Their plan is to blitzkrieg after the debates. There’s no reason to get loud before then because it’ll be DeSantis’ introduction to the national audience.
