I love this argument. So you are your kids God? What happens when they don't believe what you tell them is right or wrong. Maybe Timmy's parents think it's okay for Timmy to smoke crack so what will be your reasoning be when your kids ask you if you think it's wrong?

Moral standards are only as good as the one applying them.

You want to imagine the absence of god, go look at how black folks were treated 60 years ago. Wonder if they thought God was being squeezed out of the country.

That's about 50 virtue signal points, for you.

While democrats dehumanized and demonized them, back then.. they probably prayed that the icy hearts of democrats would eventually know warmth and kindness. Which eventually happened, a little.

A lot of bible belt black and white Christians credit god for the democrats stopping their never-ending assault on black people.

Now they pray, once more for democrats.. in hopes that the once again icy heart of democrats find warmth and kindness..and help them stop their never-ending assault on white people.

Is it? What standard would you use?

You have a very myopic view of the world if you think religion is the only answer and the only thing that provides the difference between right and wrong.

Kind of makes one think, if teaching the tenets of Christianity in schools would guarantee no more school shootings, who would be for it or against it?

You can insert any controversial topic into your argument for the same thought process. What if teaching the principals of Buddhism or Islam would guarantee no school shootings.

God is a big part of my life.

Unfortunately there is a lot
of evil in this world.

I feel assured that good will triumph.

Times like these are when people learn on God the most.

When the principal prayed over the intercom there were no school shooters. Now that we bowed to the whims of atheists (aka school shooters) to take prayer out of school we have these shootings

No, just a Biblical worldview. So what makes your moral authority of right and wrong mine? What's your standard?

What's it like to be so weak mentally. Why do you need a God to justify the way you live. Golden rule works fine and mantra of self improvement works better than bowing down to a being that probably doesn't exist.

Modern Christianity is one of the youngest religions on the planet. Humankind hasn't changed significantly since it's been here besides overpopulating the planet and have the most destructive wars the world has ever seen. So I guess you can take credit for that.

Relgions more peaceful than Christianity that can be taught

Buddhism-agnostic
Taoism-agnostic
Jainism-agnostic
Sikhism-
Hinduism
Wiccan
.

.
.
Christianity
.
.
Islam

funny that the three most peaceful religions in the world don't believe in a God.

I never said I was right, your original post implied that without religion it is impossible to teach right or wrong. More power to you if the bible is your moral authority but it is possible to moral without religion.

See, that's all great and wonderful, but I believe that there is more than just this fleeting life on earth. So, with that in mind, I live my life according to the standards laid out by the One who promises me more than this life.

And maybe you should try a little harder to live by these wonderful religions you hold in such high esteem you mental giant. You really just sound like the smug, arrogant atheist your are. What does Buddism say about being arrogant?

God will judge the wicked. Those who reject the Son will be rejected by the Father.

your God allows 29000 children to die everyday from starvation, diarrhea and very curable diseases.

I'm arrogant HA. because I don't believe in God? As a matter of fact I am Buddhist. And I will always rally against any religion who teaches to regard any group of people as lesser human beings.

Which to be fair if Christianity was followed correctly it wouldn't be. But the majority of its followers

Hate gay people
Hate other religions.
Hate other sects of Christianity different than their own
Hate atheists
Hate people they think don't dress properly
Hate people that don't whip their kids
Hate people on welfare

To the point that I can turn on the television on a Sunday morning and hear this being preached to people by the supposed leaders (I mean money grabbers) of this religion.

So yes I get a little pissed when someone makes the asinine statement "if we had more God this wouldn't be happening" Because all that is saying is the way I think is better than the way you think. You can GTFO of my free country with that crap.

Completely agree. The only difference in this country/schools from 50 years ago is they took God out of it.

People owned guns back then, but there wasn't nearly as many mass shootings. They take God out and now want to blame guns. Thanks leftist and ACLU, and you still don't take the blame. Instead you deflect to an inanimate object.

I feel like Im taking crazy pills, are we the only few that see this?! Look at the common denominator.

You take it when a preacher, that believes some of these things are sins against the God he believes in and will keep a person out of the Will of the God he believes in, as HATE. The preacher, I'm sure is doing it out of love for the sinner that he wants his God to save from eternal damnation.

I thought you were a mental giant. I'm beginning to wonder.

Wow. And I thought Buddhist were peaceful and tolerant? Maybe you should just call yourself a militant atheist, because that's exactly how you sound. Buddism ain't doing you a bit of good. God Bless.

You can teach them right and wrong but in actuality you have no basis for right and wrong if you don't have God behind it.

If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.

aww that's so cute you have been able to justify the hate so well in your head. As long as it helps you sleep at night there pal. Doesn't make you right to force your beliefs on other people no matter how much you think its "for the good of my fellow man" Again Free America means that isn't how it works here.

I am tolerant I think you personally should be able to practice and religion you want as long as is doesn't interfere with the freedoms of others. It's when you force those beliefs on others well then we have a problem. We will fight against oppression, subjection, and suffering. You obviously don't know much about my religion
