Does anyone feel like these “get out and vote” campaigns are a thinly veiled attempt to push progressivism?

Yes everyone should vote regardless of political affiliation but these campaigns and celebrity endorsements just feel like they’re pushing us to vote Democrat.

Am I the only one who thinks this?

It happens every year. Always pushed by the Democrats, because the Democrats know they have to hope for and push for the uneducated and lazy voters.

Yes, especially when they only focus on the presidential race and party affiliation. Uneducated voters pulling levers on candidates and issues they have no information about is scary.

Most of the younger (under 30) friends I know who aren’t voting for Trump are voting 3rd party or just aren’t voting at all.

I know the left assumes pushing the younger crowd to vote will bring in more votes for Biden but he’s too old and too out of touch.

Funny, but not so funny story, years ago my mother worked the polls in a mostly "ghetto" area in a town. The voters would come in and tell my mother they can't read, but wanted to know where the democrat levers were.
She told me she was always tempted to tell them the republican levers were the democrat levers, but never could bring herself to do it.

Depends on what you're calling a GOTV campaign.

All campaigns have these in place as the last part of an election cycle.

Nah...progressives push way more. It’s obvious the people pushing the go and vote thing are not voting R or L.

Your premise is flawed, IMO. Why should everyone vote? So many people are dumb as a box of rocks. These people should not have a say in the way our country is run.

Yes, has always been the case. “Rock the Vote” was what, 25 years ago and counting? All attempts to get more libs to the polls

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Heard an NFL one today though and the player said “it doesn’t matter which political party you identify with, everyone should have their voice heard.

Of course they are. They all exclusively target younger people, people in cities, and minorities. Every "go vote" campaign is basically rigged to target likely Democratic voting demographics.

I don't even think they hide it. If it takes a celebrity or athlete to get you to go vote you're not smart. If you're not smart you listen to others for your opinions. When you let others form your opinion you vote Democrat.

There has been a steady get out and vote campaign here in Washington in a conservative bent:

-Vote no on Prop 90
-Vote Espinosa over Reykjavik
-Write in McCormack and split the Democrat vote in district 10
-Vote Macklin over Ferguson
-Vote Culp over Inslee
