I'm sure the Union will take care of these workers.

I'm sure of it.

At least those Union boys got that raise for two months before layoffs.

it's wild to me how they get conned into voting for this without finding out it's going to end their careers.

I wonder if they know and are just gambling that they won't be the ones laid off.

When you join a union you are now working for two companies, not one.

They never stop to think about which of those companies is paying them and which they are paying.

Mhm. It’s perfectly logical to lay off 1300 people because of that. No way it has to do with company performance it an ever sinking economy.

Not hard to outperform a modern bmw when most of them are lame-arse minivans that could pass for a Chevy Equinox with a bmw badge and leather seats.

Camaro going out of production has been known for at least a couple years. This is not a surprise.

Buying tastes have changed and people would rather buy a tall car than something actually sporty.

People are idiots but the market demands more CUVs.

Wish they would go bankrupt again. A loathsome company that builds pieces of shite. They let me down way too many times.

Surely it’s not about losing revenue because of the government forcing them to invest in fairy dust EVs? Right

Surely it’s not that democrats have told these people they are worth 75 dollars an hour so they should demand that from the company? Right

There are plenty of policies that have been put in place at the detriment to the worker, directly or indirectly.

You need to study some Econ badly.

Get the government the frick out of our economy by forcing things that don’t work just so they get a kickback.

Those liberal union members voted for Biden.

Let them have what they voted for.

Most of the layoffs are coming from their "Cruise" investment which was working on robotaxis. This has nothing to do with the government forcing them into EVs.

quote:

General Motors’ beleaguered self-driving car subsidiary Cruise said Thursday that it was laying off roughly a quarter of its workforce, after months of turmoil and years of financial losses.

The job cuts will impact approximately 900 of the company’s full-time staffers, and mostly workers in commercial and corporate operations, according to a company statement shared on Cruise’s website.

They have also chosen to end the production of the Camaro. There is still a market for muscle cars in the U.S. and GM did a poor job of capturing it. The challenger and mustang each nearly doubled up the Camaro the last couple years in sales.

Well they were poorly positioned to weather a shite economy. Nobody will argue that. Hell, they’ve been poorly positioned to navigate a good economy.

But trying to argue that one insignificant incident is the driver for a layoff of 1300 people is embarrassing.
