Had a black guy from my small town who played hoops overseas make a similar statement on social media in the aftermath of George Floyd. Naturally he caught flack about it from that community, but he stuck to his guns

We have no idea what true hardship is. If you are homeless and starving in this country it’s because you have made choices that created that situation.
All of history is a cycle of civilizations rising and falling. We are very short sighted if we believe that advancements in technology makes us immune from 3000 years of war and rejection of government establishment.
It may be 10 years from now. It may be 150 years but the United States is not infallible.

Any black athlete here should go play a season in Italy, Spain, or Russia and get back to us about racism in American sports. They have no fricking clue

Agree with you 100%. Watch any soccer match in Europe (when fans return) and you will see racism on full display. Black players over there are constantly getting bananas thrown at em, monkey noises made at em. It’s pretty bad.
