Dems win control of House, Reps retain the Senate by a very narrow margin.

Trump finds a way to extricate himself (and the U.S.) from Iran, fires & blames Heg. Says "he told him to win, what more could he have done".

Its a forever war. Its going to last years no matter what happens in the midterms

Operating within the current perimeters of what necessitates Congress to authorize military action, it doesn't really matter who wins for Trump to do what he wants in Iran. Maybe if he wanted to send in a full ground force it would matter, maybe.

If the GOP wins then he can use it as confirmation the Iran issue isn't wholly unpopular and continue or ramp up the strikes. If the GOP loses then any restraint being shown for polling purposes goes out the door and strikes can continue or ramp up.

I guess my answer then is that I think nothing changes either way.

They will cut off money for all operations against Iran and the war will end soon, within a month or two, and we will limp away as losers while the IRGC stays in power and declares victory for withstanding the might of the United States, our international prestige and influence takes a hit as we take the L.

Impeachment hearings of cabinet members will begin almost immediately, starting with Hegseth. Lutnick, RFK Jr, Kash Patel thereafter. There will be a push to impeach Trump a third time but I’m not sure it makes it.

Measures will be taken against ICE personnel and there will be attempts to remove funding that has been passed.

Funding for NPR and PBS will be fully restored, Democrats will demand such for any future bills to get passed.

USAID will be refunded, Democrats will demand such for any future bills to get passed.

Increased spending will result as Democrats will demand such for any bills to be passed. Republicans are financially irresponsible, Democrats are even more financially irresponsible.

All judicial nominees will grind to a halt. I expect very few judicial nominees to be confirmed if Democrats control. And should Sotomayor or Kagan croak, I expect the Democrats to keep the seat vacant.
