Apparently data from the Chinese trials study was accidentally posted to the WHO website.
Several outlets reporting LINK

Gilead Trading halted.

ETA: This was initially reported as material from the NIH study. It isn't. It was from a poorly conducted Chinese study. Gilead responded aggressively, making 2 points (1) The Chinese study was discontinued before statistical conclusions could be drawn, and (2) Remdesivir was only employed late-stage, whereas Gilead recommends early intervention. Gilead seems to hint the US trials are more positive. The domestic studies are scheduled for release at the end of May.

Data on Gilead’s remdesivir, released by accident, show no benefit for coronavirus patients.
By Ed Silverman
April 23, 2020

he antiviral medicine remdesivir from Gilead Sciences failed to speed the improvement of patients with Covid-19 or prevent them from dying, according to results from a long-awaited clinical trial conducted in China. Gilead, however, said the data suggest a “potential benefit.”

A summary of the study results was inadvertently posted to the website of the World Health Organization and seen by STAT on Thursday, but then removed.

We should take this as a sign it works. They are trying to bring down the rest of the world, and the WHO is their propaganda arm

Univ of Nebraska is heading up a multi center trial on Redemsevir. Maybe that will turn out more positive. Have no idea when preliminary results are known.

Indeed.

CNBC was initially reporting this as data from the NIH study. Huge difference.

The fact that the Chinese are in the process of trying to steal remdesivir which is a patented drug and manufacture it through a Chinese company, BrightGene, is more telling then this study. China is a-hole

Jim Cramer shitting all over this story:

quote:

I know several hospitals that are having good success with Remdesivir and the Chinese have continually disparaged the drug and used it wrong. This is the 3rd time. Do not believe the chinese

quote:

there are five hospitals conducting studies in this country with real controls. that news will be out soon, This is the Chinese trial that has been blasted as not objective or serious.

quote:

Plus, Jimmy Chill, has no dog in the hunt. i can't own or short stocks. But please actually read the story for heaven's sakes. Unless you think the Chinese have been honest and above board... Then you can sell.

quote:

I say wait until the American studies come out. University of Chicago study is a lot more rigorous . I would stick with that. You don't have to believe it..But this is the third time the Chinese have said the drug doesn't work

Yet did’t it show overwhelming success in Chicago?

Let me see, who’s data will I take. One from the US where things are open and transparent or one from a country that has been caught in a social media disinformation campaign to drive the US into the ground... hmmm

I think this title is disingenuous. It was stopped due to lack of enrollment, primarily, I was told.

Probably because the government wasn’t interested in paying for Remdesivir.
