For what purpose? Maybe because they are in violation of the law?

Does he want illegals to be above the law?

The left rejected offers to grant legal status to these folks in exchange for a wall.

Now we got the wall and they gots to go. They are getting off easy. They should be glad they aren’t being jailed and sent to labor camps.

Because a secondary and illegal labor market is ultimately self defeating and worsens the cycle of poverty for law abiding Americans.

Some on this board don't care about the families hurt by this, but I do. I'm an American, and I am the descendant of Mexican immigrants. My great grandfather was a green card holder. I feel terrible for the wives and daughters of these illegal immigrants, but that doesn't change my resolve for wanting to end illegal labor in this country.

"otherwise law-abiding"

Except of course the first laws they broke by coming here illegally, and the myriad laws they've likely broken by SSN fraud and being a parasite on our welfare system. I believe the last stat was 63% of illegals are on some sort of public assistance.

We should acknowledge how hard it is on good and hard working people, but stay resolved that it's still something we should solve. I can't blame these people for taking advantage of our shitty immigration laws and enforcement, and wanting to make a better life for themselves. I would do the same. That doesn't mean I shouldn't want to end the status quo too.

Don’t you have to provide a social security card to get a job?

Do we give illegal aliens social security cards?

If the answer to the first question is yes and the second question no, then I think that falls under the category of fraud.

Am I wrong?

There’s so many jokes to be made about Geraldo. I’ll go with the obvious and say “go play in al capone’s vault”

"Otherwise law-abiding workers" is like asking the question "Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?"

ETA: Someone beat me to it

Construction is already suffering a labor shortage and this won't help. Congress needs to get their arse in gear and fix this before it starts hurting the economy.
