Most Americans who are anti 2nd amendment have no idea it means ArmaLite, many pro 2nd amendment Americans don't know either.

That dude is retired military?

Looks like he's never fired a gun.

It is surprising how many people would say assault rifle. Ignorance abounds.

Also said that they have no practical purpose, can’t hunt with them or anything else.

Plenty of people hunt with ARs. My sons first and second deer he took was with ARs in 6.8 spc and 6.5 grendel

And AR is probably the best home defense gun there is.

He also said that when he was in a war he say the damage the an AR did to a body.

It’s semantics but an AR has never been used in a military conflict anywhere in the world.

Don’t care for his politics but he’s probably seen more combat than many of the folks I served with

Edit to say that he’s seen more war than a lot of Vets but as a reporter. He has put himself in some intense situations.

Here's the extent of Gerald's "military record"...

quote:

In 2001, during the War in Afghanistan, Rivera was derided for a report in which he claimed to be at the scene of a friendly fire incident; it was later revealed he was actually 300 miles away. Rivera blamed a minor misunderstanding for the discrepancy.[26]

Controversy arose in early 2003, while Rivera was traveling with the 101st Airborne Division in Iraq. During a Fox News broadcast, Rivera began to disclose an upcoming operation, even going so far as to draw a map in the sand for his audience. The military immediately issued a firm denunciation of his actions, saying it put the operation at risk; Rivera was expelled from Iraq.[27][28] Two days later, he announced that he would be reporting on the Iraq conflict from Kuwait.[29]

I understand this but at the same time I’ve heard plenty people say “ARs are not powerful at all; you can’t even hunt with them!” Bc the left often portrays the AR as a magically powerful gun.

I’ll let someone else talk about the ballistics but for me, the noise inside a house would be a problem. Not that a shotgun or pistol are quiet but that 223 just seems extra loud indoors. When I shoot pistols at an indoor range, there’s always someone next to me with an AR and I can feel it in my teeth.

Some ARs are .308 or better. Talking about them like they are one weapons ridiculously ignorant.

They are so customizable that it’s silly to try and group it into one category. I’m pretty sure you can even get some variance of a .50 cal.
