He has said he's only interested in 2 positions in government: The Presidency and the Supreme Court. No way in hell will he ever be appointed to the later given his open and highly vocal disdain for multiple cases in the Supreme Court's history that he has vowed to overturn, Roe V Wade most particularly. He thinks he's in a more powerful position with his Pirate Ship and his show than he would be as a Governor or Senator.
Plus Obama cracked that door open when he only served 2 years in the Senate before running, and then Trump ran it over with a tank.
