If you think silencing Kimmel for criticizing Trump

Kimmel has criticized Trump for years without being silenced. His entire schtick has been criticizing Trump for the last 9 years. It’s all he has and was way played out. That’s not why he was pulled. They were looking for him to give them a reason (other than just the Trump criticism) sideline him because he is not good at what he does.

The left is like an acid, it erodes from within. Everything they do turns them unto massive hypocrites. They became exactly what they used to hate about conservatives. Conservatives became more and more willing to accept. Eventually liberals went from being open minded to completely closed minded about anyone that did not completely agree with them about everything. It is insanity.

Some Kimmel thoughts:

Nobody has advocated that the government halt his show.
His show is among a collection of expensive and dying angry left leaning late night talk shows which are out of step with the national trend so networks are clearly looking for ways to unhitch from them.
His show exists to make money for his network and the prospects for future value were already poor, but now his info-tainment comments were totally tone deaf and obviously dishonest at a time when there was no likelihood of them being accepted by the general public.
And you are completely wrong about Carlin. He knew his business enough to understand to carefully watch his audience and not goad them to dislike him. That is an important skill for people in that business. JK failed miserably and Carlin would have shook his head and had a few choice words regarding JK's skills.

But the big take away is that you really need to not annoy the public and expect them to send money your way.

In our country, Freedom of Speech means you are protected from being targeted by the Government for what you said. It says that you have the right to say what you feel no matter how stupid, smart, hateful, truthful, etc.. that your speech may be, and the government, legally has no legal recourse to limit that speech.

It however does not insulate you from receiving criticism or facing social and cultural ramifications from society. Including things such as losing your job or being ostracized by the community.
THIS right here is the answer and the end of this debate.

Thank you sir.

Rightly so. They have been allowing all sorts of unprotected speech. Just because they have an FCC license doesn’t mean they can say whatever they want.

Obligatory wrong board but Tucker Carlson was let go at Fox because of Dominion lawsuit. The Biden Administration/FCC didn’t threaten Fox News in order to have Carlson removed.

In April 2023, Fox News dismissed Carlson and canceled his show without any explanation.[43] It was Lachlan Murdoch who made the decision to fire him.[44] Tucker Carlson Tonight had at that point been one of the most-watched cable news shows in the country. Carlson was among the hosts named in the Dominion Voting Systems v. Fox News Network defamation lawsuit for broadcasting false statements about the plaintiff company's voting machines that Fox News settled for $787.5 million and required Fox News to acknowledge that the broadcast statements were false.

Here is Wiki with details about Dominion vs. Fox News.

Nah, you got it twisted. Jimmy Kimmel is to blame for getting his garbage arse show canceled. It's time for people like he and you to start taking accountability for your words and actions. Be a man.

That's the way the real world works.

George Carlin would've been a cry baby bitch, cancel culture warrior were he alive today. They all always are.

It’s hard trying to convince idiots that they aren’t idiots. Won’t be long before those people are corralled back into to the Politics forum and they can’t get back to the circle jerk that that forum has become.

To answer your question, Twitter permanently suspended President Trump's account over a pattern of behavior that violated company rules, including but not limited to, his posts that led to 1/6. He was banned from Twitter couple days after 1/6.

Nobody cares that ABC suspended a comedian/talk show host. What’s bs is that President Trump and head of FCC doing what they did to force ABC to do what they did.
