My how the MSM (Lying Media) protects the dems and at all cost to your wallet.

quote:

Although you’d never know it from the coverage, Barack Obama presided over stratospheric prices for the entirety of his two terms in office – when they averaged $4.32 a gallon. Democrats weren’t complaining, and the media treated it as an inevitability while Obama chanted that “you can’t drill your way to cheap gas.”

Go ahead, elect a democrat!!

They’re staying home to protest high gas prices which will bring in higher gas prices. Just wait until Jeffries and Schumer get leader spots back and play sides with Iran to limit trumps power.

I just paid $4.07/gl

Somewhat less than a few weeks back at $4.20/gl

Still, abt $2/gl to much, imo.

Imagine the prices if we didn’t decide to start a war

Temporary occupant of the White House is not what will determine gas prices in the future. What will is refinery capacity is not keeping pace population increases..

No "we" have not. I think what "we" are explaining is that under Democrats, and under Biden, prices for everything were higher than they are currently, and Biden did not have to deal with the problem in Iran to blame it on. Prices under Democrats are unreasonably high by baked in Democrat policy. Prices, currently, are high because of Iran. Not because of a backward energy policy, mass illegal immigration, leftist corruption (DOGE has currently cut).

There is a difference. So it's nonsensical to "vote for Democrats" because of high prices because if a Democrat is elected, this is the norm, not the outlier.

Averages are one of the most misleading stats to ever exist.

You could take it a step further and say Gas was rising under Biden simultaneously while he was raiding the SPR on a monthly draw-down in a non wartime environment. However, not to be partisan on only pick on the Dems, what's happening now under Trump is not exactly a well oiled machine either, pardon the pun. He mucked this up pretty bad and will be lucky if only the House falls next month, and there's no end in sight to when the FOMC might actually loosen monetary supply. If Reagan was the bar Trump was trying to jump over, he has failed so far and is running out of attempts.

Good point. Crude oil eased below the $89-per-barrel mark on Wednesday. It's not the price per barrel causing the high prices. Been much higher. Wonder why we haven't been upgrading and building new refineries.

Panama Canal now under US control again.
Venezuela gives control to US of 68 billion barrels of oil.
Greenland is now controlled by US.
More oil is flowing through Strait of Trump now than before 02/01/2026
No one is crossing the US border with Mexico illegally

Now, imagine none of the above occurred. Would you still be complaining about gas prices only?

1) not a war, but that's beside the point.
2) Did you have information that no one else had? Because multiple intel agencies have reported that Iran was developing nukes. Is your position to just let them have them? Play that out and how does that look in the future. A nuclear armed Iran.

I mean, Trump could have done what every other POTUS did, and ignored them, and let them have nukes. At least gas would be cheaper right now and the Repubs would have a better shot at winning the midterms. But isn't that what we complain about with Washington pols? They care more about re-election than they do actually accomplishing things. Here, Trump accomplished something. But you'd rather him be concerned with re-election?

If it's not a war, why did Trump have to inform Congress of the 60 to 90 day war powers clock after the cease fire ended?

Cool. Then please provide all of us with the secret intel that apparently you have, but no one else does, not even our intel agencies. Or do you think that Trump just decided to bomb Iran because it would be fun? What, in your mind, is the reasoning behind bombing specific targets in Iran if there were no nukes?

We're using "boots on the ground" to define a war versus the Constitution? This is technically and literally a declared war. Now figuratively, you can call it whatever you want I guess lol.

No, i prefer we just use the constitution. You may want to educate yourself better.

quote:

It is a war in the sense that matters for the laws of armed conflict, and it is not a formally declared war under the U.S. Constitution.

quote:

International law. Under Common Article 2 of the Geneva Conventions, an international armed conflict exists when there is armed force between states. Legal analysts at Just Security concluded that after February 28 the United States, Israel, and Iran were “unequivocally” in an international armed conflict, and that the law of armed conflict applies whether or not political leaders use the word “war.”

quote:

U.S. domestic law. Congress has not declared war. The last formal U.S. declarations were in World War II. There is also no Iran-specific Authorization for Use of Military Force. The administration has relied on the president’s claimed Article II authority as commander in chief and has filed War Powers Resolution notifications
