I’m not a fan but it’s known the Kennedy Center is a political pork priority for many Dems. They try to shoehorn renovations and all kinds of extra funding for them.
I’m not surprised that Kennedy Center honored him as payback for his inauguration performance. It’s too easy and doesn’t cost the Dems anything.

Mid 1990’s I was watching a news talk show, I don’t remember which one exactly, but Garth was on. At that point in my life, country was not a genre I enjoyed, but I watched the segment anyway. The host had several callers on. About 4 callers in, this women called and said how much she enjoyed his music and what it meant to her. She had a child with some terminal illness which meant lots of time in the hospital, when she wasn’t working, where she would listen to his “no fences” over and over again. Towards the end of the call, Garth says “ma’am, would you mind staying on the line? I’d like to talk to you off air.” So the segments over and the program continues but right before the show ends the host says, I want you all to know that Garth told the women that he’d pay for her to quit her job if she wanted so that she could spend more time with her child.
Power corrupts. Power in today's world, means power to influence people. It is interesting to read James Redfield's ("The Celestine Prophecy") theories about the interaction of people, and how an "energy exchange" takes place in human relationships.
Power puts pressure on high profile, powerful, 'successful', influential people to be moral. The most advanced principle of Morality (assumption) is love for one's peers; and if one holds that Love (Love can be defined as the highest expression of Appreciation) as the ideal form of the Human character (evolving Humanity, as the Creative Impetus/God). And Mercy, flows from Love. Jesus - as the pure and perfect manifestation of the Human prototype, laid out the Principles of both Love and Mercy. Those who hear His words, know what they mean. I know, philosophical/theological gobbletygook.
Bottom line re Garth. All people who reach the pinnacle of power, will be inclined to tow the 'Mercy' line...lest they be judged as unmerciful, and lose their great fortune in the next life. With Karma exacting Justice. That is the real fear which is the impetus for much of what we see in the 'merciful' Left.
Of course, the arguments can go a lot deeper into the weeds. So much so that it all just seems crazy.
Fascinating time. Wondrous Universe. Thank you Jesus.

Was honestly surprised he was still alive when he showed up for the Biden thing...he hasn't been relevant in like 25 years

Not a shocker. Garth is a failure as a man. He cheated on his wife with a Sea World exhibit.
I still upvoted cause thats a just a great line.

Fat Garth probably showed up in boots.

He was also oddly granted the rights to cover Shallows by Interscope records. Now he and Big Trisha have a new crossover hit.

How would he tell the difference? His wife is a Sea World exhibit.
