I've floated this idea plenty of times but I would rather Trump get to spend the next two years focusing on campaigning. Plus I'd rather them have to call him Mr. President than Mr. Speaker in the 2024 debates.

Especially if Trump doesn't run against Biden. Trump would be Mr. President while the Democrat wouldn't be. Almost like Trump would have the power of the incumbency.

Would be nice if Trump is Speaker of House and gets in as President in February 2023. Then, he runs again and wins in 2024 and gets 4 more years. The left would start rioting.

How would this mesh with the 22nd amendment? (Not in Trump's case, but as a theoretical.) Would the succession simply bypass the Speaker or would it be moot since the succession would not involve the individual actually being elected?
