When I said that Grok was trying to overcorrect as well that's because I asked Grok about the bio-labs and it immediately said no "bio weapons labs" exist. I had to correct it and remind it that I did not ask about bioweapons, but simply bio-labs. It acknowledged its mistake and corrected itself.

Of course they aren't going to confirm them funding bio weapons labs. No source confirms this. Although it is heavily implied when Gabbard says that their gain of function research has directly contributed to global health crises.

They only people who wanted to make this some kind of conspiracy are the tin foil hat wearers. The US has Biolabs all over the planet, some are Military, and some are NHS and CDC. The Navy has facilities in Singapore, Cairo, and Lima, mostly operating as infectious disease labs, no doubt doing other things as well.

You should never trust their explainability.
They don't actually have a reference to how they came up with the previous answer.

Explainability is hard really hard, there are a number of ways its been tried, some require logging the similarity scores for the chosen and other potential answers.

Thats for more traditional forms like a bayes net or random forest.

For a transform based LLM there's no reasonable way to store attention information, or underlying datasets.

Its just offering you a reasonable explanation on what it could have been thinking.

I dont really care what topic its on, LLMs do not explain themselves, they just give you a story that could be true, but the LLM has no way to check where its attention was.
