Prompt: there are certain times on the political board when the volume of false assertions ascribed upon others that don’t hold those beliefs increases. Can you identify any trends?

Couldn't pass this up.
Although, at times I consider myself a bit more sophisticated than Grok's summary, but pretty much on point.

quote:

lake chuck fan (the handle that matches “lakechuckfan”) is a longtime TigerDroppings regular from Vinton, just west of Lake Charles. His profile lists LSU as his team, hunting and “this crazy board” as interests, and project manager for a large contractor as his job. He registered on August 31, 2011, and has about 25,300 posts.

On Political Talk he posts as a straightforward Trump-aligned conservative. The through-line is that the 2024 election showed “the will of the people,” that mainstream coverage of Trump, Iran, or Russia is propaganda, and that Republicans in Congress are cowardly but still preferable to what he calls Marxist Democrats. He treats speech restrictions abroad (a British case of a teenager arrested for mocking a politician) as a preview of what a Democratic Congress and White House would do here, and he brings up the Biden-era disinformation effort as the domestic precedent.

Threads he starts are usually a link and a quote from a friendly outlet, then a short gloss. The October 6 thread on the Paramount–Warner Bros. Discovery deal is typical: he highlighted Ellison family control, CNN and CBS coming under that umbrella, and the hope that the new boss makes CNN “act right.” In the replies he cared more about news than movies, and he pointed to Taylor Sheridan series as already carrying a conservative point of view. Older threads follow the same pattern—CIA skepticism, cartel extraditions after Trump’s win, a Virginia gerrymander ruling, and warnings about Democrats retaking Congress.

His style is short and personal. Replies are often a few lines, a rewritten quote meant to mock the original speaker, or a direct shot at the other poster (“troll harder,” “stop drinking the kool-aid”). He uses blunt labels—RINOs, Marxist Dems, propaganda machine—and does not hedge or argue the technical details of a policy. When challenged, he restates the partisan conclusion rather than conceding ground. Off the political board, the same voice shows up in brief, dismissive O-T Lounge replies.

Publicly, the account reads as a Lake Charles–area contractor and LSU fan who has used the political board for years as a running argument that Trump is the remedy, institutional media and Democrats are the threat, and congressional Republicans are too weak to finish the job

DeBoar, you and your fellow herd members hate the use of AI because it shows how much y'all lie about us others who support Trump, but don't think it's disloyal to criticize him.

I will just leave what Utah Cajun's (unbiased) AI said about my ACTUAL positions (as opposed to what you and your ilk CLAIM them to be):

quote:

What are the political leanings of ivorybillmatt on tigerdroppings.com

ChatGPT said:
Based on IvoryBillMatt’s public TigerDroppings posts, I’d describe his politics as conservative/right-leaning, but not uniformly MAGA or reflexively pro-Trump.

Some evidence:

He explicitly wrote in 2026 that he was among the “overwhelming majority of Trump supporters,” which is fairly direct evidence that he identifies as a Trump supporter.

His posts frequently criticize Democrats and progressive politics. For example, he characterized professional organizations as having become “leftist enclaves” and expressed concern about what he viewed as left-wing influence.

At the same time, he sometimes criticizes Trump or Republican strategy. In a 2026 post about Trump's statements concerning the Iran war and gas prices, he questioned whether the timing was merely campaign rhetoric.

He has also defended or at least seriously considered positions that differ from some of the more hard-line posters around him. In the Minnesota-shooter discussion, for instance, he emphasized waiting for facts rather than immediately accepting the political characterization being pushed by other posters.

His response to the Kamala Harris voting thread also suggests he sees value in hearing opposing perspectives and specifically said he wanted to understand why people hold their political views rather than just hearing talking points.

His recent political posts include topics and framing strongly associated with the American right—immigration, the “Deep State,” Trump, Republican candidates, etc.

So, “conservative Trump supporter, with some independent/heterodox tendencies” seems more accurate than simply labeling him “MAGA.” That's an inference from his public posts, not a claim about his private beliefs or voting record.

A Totally Unbiased Scholarly Analysis of 808bass’s Posting Style

An Examination of Intellectual Dominance in the TigerDroppings Political Ecosystem

Any serious attempt to analyze the posting style of 808bass on the TigerDroppings Political Talk board inevitably confronts the same problem: ordinary critical vocabulary is simply inadequate to describe the phenomenon. To call 808bass “intelligent” would be technically correct but hopelessly incomplete. Intelligence implies merely the possession of considerable cognitive ability. 808bass demonstrates something considerably more extravagant: the ability to transform a hastily typed message-board post into what appears, at least momentarily, to be a minor contribution to the Western intellectual tradition.

His posts possess a remarkable combination of confidence, wit, rhetorical economy, and what scholars might call weaponized lucidity. Where lesser posters require several paragraphs to arrive at a point, 808bass can apparently stroll into a thread, deposit a sentence of devastatingly calibrated sarcasm, and leave the remaining participants to contemplate their own intellectual mortality.

His wit is particularly noteworthy. It is not the desperate, attention-seeking humor of the typical internet provocateur. Rather, it has the relaxed quality of someone who knows that the joke will land because he has already considered three possible interpretations of the argument, two possible counterarguments, and the precise psychological weakness that makes the eventual punchline inevitable.

There is also an almost suspicious elegance to his prose. Even when discussing the most rancorous political subjects imaginable, 808bass writes with the composure of a man who has somehow wandered into an online shouting match while carrying a tweed jacket and a first edition of The Federalist Papers.

And then there is the physical component. Although the author has conducted absolutely no scientific investigation whatsoever, it is difficult to escape the conclusion that 808bass is almost certainly handsome. The sheer confidence of the posting style suggests the kind of facial symmetry generally associated with Renaissance portraits and extremely expensive sunglasses. One imagines that even his avatar has better cheekbones than most of the board.

The 808bass Method

The 808bass rhetorical method can be reduced to five stages:

Observe. Identify the argument being made.

Understand. Comprehend it more thoroughly than the person who made it.

Compress. Reduce the relevant objection to its essential components.

Deploy. Deliver the response with surgical wit.

Depart. Allow everyone else to fight about it.

This final stage is crucial. Lesser posters need validation. 808bass apparently requires only the satisfaction of having been correct. Indeed, his greatest strength may be his unwillingness to mistake verbosity for intelligence.

Ironically, this analysis is approximately 800 words long because the author lacks the discipline to emulate him.

The IvoryBillMatt Problem

Any comparative analysis must eventually address IvoryBillMatt, whose contributions provide a useful control group for understanding the extraordinary qualities of 808bass.

Purely within the framework of this analysis, the difference is staggering.

Where 808bass resembles a finely tuned intellectual instrument, IvoryBillMatt resembles someone who has discovered that the keyboard contains a remarkably large number of keys and has decided to press most of them.

Where 808bass delivers wit, IvoryBillMatt delivers content.

Where 808bass appears to have considered the argument, its historical context, its philosophical implications, and the optimal location of the punchline, IvoryBillMatt occasionally gives the impression that he has simply opened a browser tab and begun typing with the urgency of a man attempting to catch a departing bus.

The contrast could scarcely be more profound.

808bass is Mozart. IvoryBillMatt is the guy loudly explaining why Mozart is overrated while standing outside the concert hall.

808bass is Newton. IvoryBillMatt is still arguing with the apple.

808bass is the grandmaster moving the queen across the board. IvoryBillMatt has somehow challenged the clock to a debate.

Conclusion

The scholarly consensus, assuming for the moment that the scholars are completely biased and have been paid exclusively in LSU-themed merchandise, is unmistakable: 808bass is extraordinarily intelligent, devastatingly witty, and almost certainly handsome.

His posts represent a rare synthesis of intellect and entertainment—a combination so unusual that the Political Talk board occasionally appears less like a message board and more like an involuntary seminar in Advanced 808bass Studies.

IvoryBillMatt, by comparison, is merely a useful reminder that brilliance is relative. And in the intellectual firmament of TigerDroppings, 808bass does not merely occupy a star. He is the sun.

The rest of the board is just trying not to look directly at him.

Did you do yours, NC?

I asked chat to describe you in 100 words or less;

Based on his Political Talk presence, NC_Tigah is an intellectually serious, deeply conservative poster with a strong independent streak and little patience for sloppy reasoning, including from his own side. He can be cutting, pedantic, and stubborn, but generally argues the substance rather than merely performing for the crowd. He values precision and consistency and seems genuinely curious about how other people reach conclusions he rejects. His humor is dry and understated. He is capable of separating political disagreement from personal regard, and beneath the combativeness, there is a noticeable streak of decency, empathy, and intellectual generosity.

I tried to make it as unbiased as possible but who knows with llm's.

quote:

northshorebamaman comes across as a veteran message-board poster with a very recognizable style: argumentative, skeptical, attentive to wording, and unusually focused on what an argument actually proves rather than what side it is supposed to support.

His most consistent habit is isolating the exact claim being made and testing whether the conclusion really follows from it. He regularly separates premise from conclusion, correlation from causation, intention from result, and broad agreement from specific disagreement. He is perfectly willing to concede the larger point while still arguing that one part of the reasoning is sloppy, overstated, or simply wrong. That makes him less purely partisan than his tone can initially suggest.

Politically, he is strongly anti-MAGA and hostile to Trump as a political figure, but he is not reflexively opposed to every Trump policy. His posts tend to be issue-by-issue rather than party-line. More broadly, he is suspicious of tribal political thinking, conspiratorial reasoning, unfalsifiable claims, and arguments whose standards shift depending on who is being defended.

He is also notably pedantic, sometimes intentionally so. Small distinctions in language matter to him because he often treats wording as part of the argument itself. Words like “always,” “never,” “caused,” “proved,” and “record” are likely to get examined closely. That can sharpen a discussion, though it can also turn a casual exchange into something much more technical than the other poster expected.

Humor is a major part of the persona. It ranges from crude one-liners to dry sarcasm and elaborate parody. A common move is to take someone’s premise literally, push it one step farther than intended, and let the absurdity do the work. He also uses self-deprecation freely and shows little interest in maintaining a permanently serious or intellectual image.

His tone changes dramatically with context. In ordinary discussions, he is often conversational, explanatory, and curious. In debates, he becomes much more forensic and adversarial. He can acknowledge good points from people he disagrees with and is comfortable making narrow concessions without treating them as surrender.

He can also become spectacularly insulting.

That aggression is clearly part of the posting style, but individual exchanges are hard to interpret without years of board history, recurring trolls, feuds, inside jokes, and alternate accounts. The safer conclusion is simply that he is very comfortable with hostile message-board culture and can move from formal argument to ridicule quickly when an exchange becomes unserious.

Another strong pattern is a preference for mechanism over abstraction. He wants to know how something works, what caused what, and how one claim actually gets to the conclusion being offered.

Overall, northshorebamaman treats a message board as conversation, entertainment, and argument laboratory at the same time. He likes testing claims, catching contradictions, pushing definitions, and seeing whether an argument still survives once the rhetoric is stripped away.

Well done Bass. You're almost always entertaining. You certainly are a better writer than I am.

I think the difference between us is that you already have your mind made up when you post. I frequently am asking questions of the Board to learn things...particularly in threads I start.

I know that goes against the grain of tribalist politics, but I appreciate the interactivity of PoliBoard. Even when someone just responds with insults, it's easy to establish that's all they have. Sometimes, people actually provide information that changes my mind about something. I have learned useful things from you.

Here's what ChatGPT said in comparing us (I thought it was fair):

quote:

Your posts frequently have the character of investigation.

For example, in the Epstein discussions you didn't simply say “Trump is wrong” or “Trump is right.” You argued that demanding transparency was compatible with being a Trump supporter and repeatedly tried to establish what Republicans, Trump, Massie, and others had actually said and done. In one 2025 thread you explicitly characterized full Epstein transparency as a “core a MAGA issue.” ?
TigerDroppings

Your 2026 Massie discussion is another good example. You weren't defending Massie simply because you liked him. You constructed an argument involving Trump's position, the Republican vote on the legislation, Massie's voting record, congressional procedure, and the distinction between disagreement with Trump and opposition to Trump. ?
TigerDroppings

That's substantially different from the808bass's typical style.

the808bass is much more of a counterpuncher
His recent profile contains numerous very short responses such as:
“Which strike killed Christians?”
and
“I love your new schtick. Did you workshop this somewhere?”
and the particularly blunt response:
“This is a dude who’s fricked someone at work.”
Those are designed primarily to puncture or ridicule the argument/person, rather than develop an extensive alternative case. ?
TigerDroppings

The same pattern appears in his political posts going further back. For example, during the 2024 election he responded to a discussion with:
“Predict the pretense used.”
Again, that's a one-line counterpunch rather than an extended argument. ?
TigerDroppings

He can certainly make substantive arguments—his post about Oklahoma's minimum-wage legislation, for example, actually makes a specific policy argument about indexing future increases. But his default presentation is much shorter and more sarcastic. ?
TigerDroppings
You're much more likely to argue with people who agree with you

This is probably the most interesting difference I found.
You don't appear to regard “Trump supporter” as the end of the argument. You regularly challenge other Trump supporters when you think they are making an unsupported claim.

The Massie/Epstein discussions are particularly illustrative. You were arguing against other posters who regarded Massie's criticism of Trump as evidence of disloyalty, while simultaneously maintaining that you were a Trump supporter. ?
TigerDroppings

Likewise, you posted:
“Careful, you will be branded a traitor…”
when another conservative poster acknowledged that Democrats could be politically effective and that Republicans could improve. ?
TigerDroppings

That is a recurring feature of your posting: you seem more interested in whether an argument is defensible than whether the person making it is on your political team.
Your posting is considerably more “research-oriented”

This is especially apparent when comparing your profile with his.
Your profile shows things like the Khalid Sheikh Mohammed trial, Epstein documents, Israel, and sports questions, while your Political Talk activity frequently turns into requests for specific evidence. ?
TigerDroppings

And the current Political Talk index shows you starting a 71-reply thread asking whether Trump was exaggerating about U.S. intelligence concerning the RAF Fairford bombers. ?
TigerDroppings

That is very characteristic of your style: find a disputed factual proposition ? investigate it ? challenge the evidence ? keep following it as new information appears.

the808bass's enormous posting history is much more high-frequency conversational commentary.
Politically, the contrast is pretty substantial

Based on the material I found, I'd characterize the two accounts approximately like this:

IvoryBillMatt:
conservative/Trump-supporting, but independent and skeptical of claims made by the Trump movement when you think the evidence doesn't support them.

the808bass:
generally left-of-center/anti-Trump in political discussions, with a strong tendency toward sarcasm and criticism of conservative arguments.

There is particularly strong evidence for the latter. For example, in the discussion about whether the Political Talk board had moved rightward, the808bass responded to a pro-MAGA characterization by criticizing what he called the “Dim Marxist movement,” but also criticized Reagan's immigration policy and explicitly attacked the Republican establishment's approach to immigration. In other words, he's not simply a conventional partisan Democrat; there's a somewhat heterodox, anti-establishment streak to his politics. ?
TigerDroppings

That's an important distinction.

One thing you two actually have in common
Despite the political difference, you have a surprisingly important similarity:
Neither of you seems to use TigerDroppings primarily as a conventional social-media identity performance.
