Better be extraordinarily self-sufficient then, with no need to "buy and sell". Few are, for any extended time. If the Government folds, the money and goods/services system goes with it. And hell breaks loose. Uncle Sam knows this.

No “we all” would not be. There is a very large portion of the IS population that would need put down if the federal government collapsed. Most people who live in the inner cities and are welfare queens type would become feral thieves inside a week.
There would be a war like never seen over basics.
