Absolutely. Again, it only goes to magnify the shittiness that is government run institutions. In any private company she's gone.

It isn't a free speech issue, its a "making your employer look like assholes" issue.

The way education has become skewed toward this type of individual worries me . She should have been fired the second that tweet was sent . I am all for the 1st but I also understand there a consequences to what I say .

In the private sector, she would have instantly been fired for pissing off over half of the customer base.

The problem isn't some professor going off the rails and not being disciplined

The problem is higher education hiring these radical pieces of blubber in the first place that add absolutely nothing to the institution and merely use it as a forum for their dumbass extremist ideology

I love how she promotes violence but would be the least physically capable of taking the fight to anyone.

I would also like to throw this out there for any liberal that wants to answer.

Twitter didn't exist when the Bill of Rights was penned. Public universities also weren't a thing back then. Should this be one of those "the BoR is outdated" arguments or is that only for 2A?

But that stunt with the suicide hotline number?
Repugnant.

The stunt with the hotline gave them the chance to get outside of it being arguably free speech, and to fire her.

Crazy

Saying that calling for physical violence and tying up a crisis hotline because you think its funny doesn't violate any university policies because she acted in a private matter is comical.

They can’t do anything. If they fire her she will sue, and win, because they set the precedent with the history teacher that said Trump should be hung. Gave him paid leave for a semester then took him back.

It won’t surprise me, however, if FSU ultimately loses more money from bailing donors and plummeting enrollment than it would’ve paid out in any potential damages.

I predict two things: (1) This decision will end up being very destructive for Fresno State University, a la Mizzou; and (2) this isn’t the last we’ll hear from Professor Jarrar.

I think Jarrar should be fired. But you're probably overstating the effects of this on the university, which will be minimal, at best. The Missouri situation was completely different -- that place exploded in protest and SJW rage. This doesn't even come close to that. This will pass without much effect at all. Maybe they find a way to get her later for something else. Kind of like a makeup call.

If Fresno State wants to keep her, that's fine. It's California. But ASU should sue her for damages. Her stunt cost a lot in both labor and missed opportunities to help people who really had nobody else to turn to and no more chances to help.

Can you imagine being in that state of mind and not even the suicide hotline is there for you? frick that. This bitch deserves to pay.

Well since she isn’t a politician or any kind of a public official. She is just a normal citizen not a famous actress or public figure she probably leads a normal life like the majority of the people. She isn’t surrounded by body guards or protection. See where I am going with this? Someone will end up confronting her and it will not end well. Yes you are free to say what you want but it that doesn’t mean their won’t be consequences.
