CORRECT....
He is posturing and it is working already! You watch, the trade/tariff imbalance will level out over time.....that is his ultimate end goal.

US refineries need heavier Canadian crude. A West Texas barrel and a Canadian barrel aren’t the same thing. US refiners already use as much US crude as they can stomach…that’s why the lighter barrels go to the export market right now.
double our production if you want, in fact you can start today, only 1 percent of Texas is federal land, there is absolutely nothing stopping anyone from drilling more. that is not the problem.
problem is we dont have the refineries for it.
historically, what the world was putting out was heavy sour oil, so thats what our refineries are configured for. and America produces almost none of that, we produce shale.

The fact they don't have a real military is reason alone for us to claim the territory
i will say it again. a country of that size in order to help us defend should absolutely have a powerful military..stronger than any of the weak ones in europe. their army should be upgraded from 100k to a 500k man army.
and their navy and air force are anemic. they have like 63 fighter jets while we have over 3k. zero reason they should not be a powerhouse militarily to help us should we need it against russia, NK, iran or CHYYYYYYYNA in the future. The euros are weak enough and cannot be relied on.

Anybody. Are you even a country if you can't defend yourself?

You are not. They have the population of California and the GDP of Mississippi. We wouldn't supplement California or Texas if they wanted to be independent. We do we prop up Canada?

I think we should allow Saskatchewan and Alberta as the first two Canadian Provinces to become the 51st and 52nd states of the USA. The second phase should be the Yukon and Northwest Territories. The third phase should be British Columbia and Manitoba. Leaving the most Liberal Canadians out of the USA.

Here are some historic tariffs Canada hits America with: Milk: 270%
Cheese: 245%
Butter: 298%
Chicken: 238%
Sausages: 69.9%
Barley seed: 57.8%
Bovine/meat: 26.5%
Cars: 25%
HVAC: 45%
Vacuums: 35%
Cable boxes: 35%
TVs: 45%
Steel: 25%
Aluminum: 45%
Copper: 48%
Take a guess how much financial aide the U.S. sends Canada EVERY YEAR and how much military defense spending we provide?

We have enough timber and sawmills.
You might bitch where it's cut because of some fricking mouse or owl but we don't need Canada's timber.

How about we actually build a refinery that can handle that crude?
Because the heavier fractions for asphalt and petroleum coke make a higher percentage of profit than next to no profit gasoline. It's been that way since the early 1980s and why major refineries in TX and LA switched to very heavy crude from Venezuela. That price was always lower so it wasn't price. The early 1980's is when new markets were developed for petroleum coke to more than a barely saleable product leftover from squeezing the last drop of "gasoline" from the barrel The price of it increased exponentially in a year,

Making just gasoline, jet fuel and diesel is not that profitable if at all. Heavier fractions make more money

We have them. Valero in St. Charles has refined that crude forever. We also have one or two in LC that specifically refined that shitty oil. We are fine to take it and will expand our production now.
