Thanks for finally stating a fact.
It's a constant moving target.

Wrong. The analogy is absolutely appropriate.

Wrong. Maine and California have the same central bank and same currency. Maine can't devalue their currency to get a trade advantage.

I don't recall y'all complaining about the previous administration's tarrifs. That surely must have been the reason so many were unemployed.

We will certainly have less employment if tariffs go on as Trump wants.
False.

They don't. So why do you so vehemently oppose forcing everyone to eliminate them?

I have complained forever about tariffs. It is simply a myth that we did not have tariffs before Trump.

Correct. All-in they ran about 9%. That is juxtaposed against ~25% defacto charges/tariff on US goods in the EU, 25% in China, 17% in Canada, and >25% in Mexico.

If tariffs are so bad, why are so many other countries using them to make their domestic producers competitive with ours? Would they not benefit their own countries by eliminating their tariffs by the same logic suggesting our own tariffs are detrimental to us?

Why did both Obamas and Bushes tariffs fail?

Why do so many countries with larger tariffs have economies so much smaller than ours?

Definitely wouldn’t have anything to do with natural resources, population numbers, different laws, a constitution, etc., that’s for sure.

Are you suggesting tariffs are good for small economies but bad for big ones? What makes it different?

No. How did you twist that around?

I am stating the fact that high tariffs hinder economic growth of countries.
