A while back I looked up the official total US deaths (all causes) going back a few years. I think we ended up with approximately 400k more deaths in 2020 than we usually have in a year
I was hoping to find that total deaths was about the same as usual in 2020, was kind of disappointed to see that there actually was a significant up-tick in total deaths last year.

Turns out scaring people into not leaving their homes to the point healthcare outside of Covid ground to a near standstill isn’t a healthy thing to do.
Also, understand how they calculate the forecast line of the excess death graph.

Several stories like this out there. For instance, the youngest death in Georgia had COVID, was running a fever, family put him in the bath then left him unattended (a freaking 1 year old left unattended in a GD bath tub!), he had a seizure and drowned. COVID death.

Apologies as I accidentally mixed up two stories. The seizure in the tub was a 7 year old from Savannah left unattended in the tub, not a 1 year old. I have a 7 year old and she's not left unattended in the tub long enough to drown, especially when she doesn't feel well. The 1 year old had a condition. Original point still stands though on what is counted as a COVID death.

What is an example of a scenario that would result in Covid 19 death not being counted?
Is he saying clerical errors? That would work both ways. I can see the number of cases being underreported, since many people were either asymptomatic or had mild symptoms and didn't get tested. But a death? So are people dropping dead and we're not counting them? I can't imagine that happening.
