Sorry if this was already posted... but an actual pedophile who sexually abused a 7-year-old gets... a slap on the wrist.

KUTV: Former BYU baseball player sentenced in child sexual assault case

Candon Dahle, who played on BYU's baseball team prior to his arrest, was sentenced to 180 days in jail and eight years of probation on Thursday.

Dahle was arrested in Utah County on Feb. 7 for child lewdness before being extradited to Idaho for court proceedings. He took a plea deal, pleading guilty to two counts of felony injury to a child.

Judge Steven Boyce sentenced him to 5 to 10 years in the Idaho State Prison, but suspended the prison time in favor of eight years of probation and 180 days in jail. He is also required to do 200 hours of community service and pay just over $2,600 in fines.

The victim spoke during the sentencing, saying Dahle sexually abused her for five years, starting when she was 7 years old

I don't understand the sentence... other than if he's in college, now, he may have been a pre-teen when this happened or started, himself? Or maybe it's a Mormon thing?

Looks to be a juvenile prosecution

Dahle was arrested on Feb. 7 in Provo on a juvenile court warrant out of Bingham County for lewd conduct with a child. He was then extradited and booked into the Bingham County Jail in Blackfoot.

He was initially charged in two counties, Fremont and Bingham, both on one count of felony lewd conduct with a child.

Dahle later accepted a plea agreement, where he agreed to plead guilty in Fremont County to amended charges of two counts of felony injury to a child. In return, the prosecution agreed to drop the case in Bingham County and not require Dahle to register as a sex offender while recommending a term of probation at sentencing.

Piecing articles together, it seems it started when he was 13, but the victim said she can only recall and has memories of it starting at 7, but believes it was before then. It continued until he was 18.

The saints of latter days must condone this like the modern Israelis.

At least he's a former Cougar.

If he played for Oregon State he'd get to stay on the team and be a fan favorite.

5 years of abuse results in 6 months in jail?

Sounds like the judge gave him the Luke Heimlich maneuver.
