In Texas it is required if you work in ER. Has been for probably the past 15 years, maybe longer.

The CDC themselves say its less that 50% effective.
What don't you understand about that? It reduces risk of contraction AND works as an antiviral if still contracted. Would you rather them just say " YOU WON'T GET THE FLU!!!"?

BTW, the flu is serious business. It's not "just a cold".

Alabama declared a statewide emergency in 2018 due to the flu.

I would MUCH rather get covid than flu or RSV.

It might be worthwhile to check out this story from Sharyl Attkisson.
quote:

An important and definitive “mainstream” government study done nearly a decade ago got little attention because the science came down on the wrong side. It found that after decades and billions of dollars spent promoting flu shots for the elderly, the mass vaccination program did not result in saving lives. In fact, the death rate among the elderly increased substantially.

The authors of the study admitted a bias going into the study. Here was the history as described to me: Public health experts long assumed flu shots were effective in the elderly. But, paradoxically, all the studies done failed to demonstrate a benefit. Instead of considering that they, the experts, could be wrong–instead of believing the scientific data–the public health experts assumed the studies were wrong. After all, flu shots have to work, right?

My employer offers the flu shot every year. I've never taken one in my entire life.

I'm at an LCMC campus.

Its a soft forcing of the shot. If you don't get the shot, you have to wear a mask all day.

You are not allowed to eat inside the building since that would require you to take off the mask, which exposes others.

At least this is how my department is being run. Yeah, I and a few others still didn't get jabbed.

For those of us who work in healthcare, am I right?

Mrs. Axe works in hospice and their flu/Corrvid shots are optional.

Of course, the owners of the company are devout Christians and as MAGA as it gets.

She worked with them in the past when they were just bosses and not owners at a different company, and lost her job when the owners mandated the shots and she refused to take them. The bosses quit and started up their own company because of the overreach. Three years later they hired Mrs. Axe back and as of right now the old company is close to closing the doors because most of their employees have gone to the new company.

They way ive heard it explained is that there is primarily FLu A and Flu B

Both A and B have 100 or so known stains each.

The annual flu vaccine is developed to include the strains that they anticipate will be most prevalent. Its a little bit of a crap shoot.

I was never forced. Worked eight years in a hospital. Two different ones at that. Who is doing this?

What did you do in those hospitals? Direct patient care is vastly different than working in accounting or HR.

Every hospital I’ve worked in (or know of) requires those involved with direct patient care to either get the flu shot or wear a mask. Been that way for 28+ years that I personally know of.

But I thought OP is saying they are mandatory. Mandatory means no exemptions.

So, the shot isn't mandatory?

So you made a post about being forced to do something and then later on down you admit that you aren't being forced to do anything. You just have to be a little inconvenienced because of YOUR CHOICE. Because you do have a choice which means they aren't forcing anything.

Did you read the part about being forced to wear a mask if you don't take a shot?

Did you read the part about being forced to eat outside since you aren't allowed to take off the mask?

Bootlickers like you are why we are here discussing these topics. Keep white knighting for those who hate you.
