Why? Dude was a clown before all of this stuff about mall cruising came out.

If you want to stick in the eye of the swamp denizens, at least get someone who is not a complete loon

I'd rather a loon who agrees with me on the issues than a loon who advocates for murdering babies.

Every person who voted for Moore in the primary should come into this thread and admit it so we can all publicly shame them.

Alabama screwed up. Take one for the team and keep the seat for the republicans.

I'm not sure there were many on this board from Bama that voted for him in the primary. Maybe in the runoff. Seems most here supported Brooks.

Alabama republicans did what democrats tried to do with Hillary. Run a terrible candidate.

Who would've voted lockstep with Trump and would've beaten Jones by 25+ points.

How's that any worse than being removed from office twice and running a sham foundation?

We could have an entire thread on how Roy Moore = Hillary. The similarities in their campaigns were remarkable.

You could have voted for Brooks in the primary or Strange, neither of them are for murdering babies.

The fact that Doug Jones could use bombshell sexual allegations to win in ruby red Bama, but Hillary couldn't use (less extreme) allegations to win against djt in a country with more Dems than repubs shows how historically bad her campaign was

Exactly.....but noooooooo I wanna throw my vote to a guy loses elections......didn't he run for governor a couple of times and got repudiated by the people of Alabama? Election coverage would not even have happened and Wolf Blitzer' s dry cleaning bill would be a little lower this morning

I'm pretty sure Strange and Brooks were both pro-life

I voted for Moore. I made my decision based on the evidence and the issues.
Allegations were made that Moore had sexual relations with a minor. He vehemently denied them.
There was no way I could be 100% sure the allegations were true.
In regards to the issues, I am opposed to Doug Jones on just about every issue.

Why would I vote for someone who doesn't reflect my stance on the issues?

Come at me.

Moore has gotten crushed in two governor races and under-performed in another for Chief Justice. There were even polls out last summer that showed he would perform worst against Jones than Strange or Mo Brooks. Moore has always relied on low turnout and certain primary dynamics in order to back into elections. He's never been a powerhouse. What happened last night isn't shocking.

Roy Moore is Hillary Clinton 2.0: A relic of the 90's who hid behind surrogates while trying to run out the clock and rely on voters pulling the lever no matter what. Meanwhile the opponent worked his arse off and won in the right places.

This is what it should be about. Louisiana fell into that trap with Vitter, he was a jerk and cheating on wife but in Washington he would vote on issues like I wanted him to. Hence we got JBE and the mess continues.
