His biggest "sin" is rocking the boat. DOGE and anything related to corruption and fraud is going to cast a wide net and affect every state negatively - corruption and fraud are not limited to blue states.

Federal money flows into every state and if we cut some of it off, even if it is fraudulent, the Congressmen from that state will get upset.

I picture what happens in some of the halls of government to that classic scene in Landman, where there was a fire on some land Tommy Norris was leasing and in order to avoid going to court, filing an insurance claim, or getting bad PR, Tommy offers to pay them $300k for a solar lease. He had no intention of putting any solar panels on the land, but he could justify the payment if he called it a solar lease.

Ostensibly the money is for some specific purpose, but really, it is just a payoff, and Congress doesn't want anyone to know that. Doge threatens to blow the lid off all of this and that is why it will not be successful.

It will all just come out when the country goes bankrupt, although I can see Trump blowing the lid off all of this when he about to leave office OR if the Democrats take control of the House/Senate and he has nothing to lose.

Trump has always been a mixed bag and there's only one thing that has surprised me in his second term. I'll get to that in a minute. But I can list somethings that have (inexplicably, IMO,) disappointed other people: His military aggressiveness after having campaigned on "no new wars." I thought it was blatantly obvious that he was just telling people what they wanted to hear during the campaign, but many people took him at his word back then. The Epstein files. No individuals have gone to prison or even been proven to have committed election fraud from the 2020 election. We're way behind on deporting illegals. To the point that it has become obvious that there's no way we can get anywhere near as many out of the country by the end of Trump's run as he promised and we all thought. Same thing with reducing the size of the Federal Government and rooting our fraud in order to save taxpayer money. There have been some cuts, yes, but the deficit and debt keep going up because everywhere Trump saves a dollar, he spends a dollar and a half. With regard to things like the last three listed, it's become obvious that Trump has way more sizzle than steak. I haven't yet decided whether he really believes he can do these things only to find out that he can't really accomplish them because they are so gargantuan, or if he knows from the outset he can't do them and he just uses them to rally the base and distract the media. Either way, what happens is that he makes a huge show about doing them and they light up the new cycle for a couple-three months (maybe longer), and then they just fizzle out about 1/5th of the way done. His act has been on display long enough for people to have noticed this at this point. People (rightly so IMO) do not like the tariffs. I think the number I looked up was around 62% of people polled oppose them, which is almost identical to the number of people polled who oppose transgender reassignment. I saw a graph yesterday that overlayed the timeline of Trump rolling out his tariffs in his second term along with his approval numbers and the fall in his approval ratings directly reflected the tariff rollouts. The longer they go on, the more the approval rating falls. There's still an "affordability crisis" if you believe the current narrative. I don't, but most people do. He promised to fix that. Ukraine and Russia are still fighting. He promised to stop that war "day one." And the one thing that has surprised me his second term is how brazenly he has used the office of the presidency to personally profit for himself and his family. He hasn't even tried to hide it. What is it you think he's been so successful at this second term?

You do know that there is currently a continuing resolution that Trump could veto.

Trump has an opinion on literally everything. From LIV golf to MMA fights to random fleeting thoughts. We are currently 6 YEARS POST-COVID AND NOT A SINGLE TIME HAS TRUMP MENTIONED, SUGGESTED, IMPLIED, OR MADE A COMMENT even so vague that the Q-tards or Prometheans could twist it into a statement supporting cutting spending to pre-covid levels.
