Measles is gonna make a big comeback with this mentality

I agree some vaccines are silly for infants (hep B particularly) but the antivaxx mentality has gone insane since covid

I mostly blame the govt for that though

Not just measles. Buy your healthcare sector stocks everybody - insurance premiums, clinical and public health costs gonna go to the moon if this goes down.

Clark county, WA estimate of measles per-case $ (public health + clinical + lost wages) - $47k per case.

Cha ching.

Should clear out the worst of the worst anti vax folks eventually though culling the herd.

Too many people in Florida anyway.

Sane people will still get the needed vaccines that good doctors recommend.

You'll see some who are free-riding on other people's kids getting vaccinated choose to vaccinate when they start to perceive more disease risk.

Floridians want to compete for a Darwin Award. Let’s see how that works out for them.

Hmm... a logical, personal, risk/benefit analysis. As all medical decisions should be.

Life expectancy dropped and is now back on the rise, now that the clot shot effects are beginning to wear off and people aren't getting them nearly as much.

The issue at hand is that they will take a newborn baby straight from the delivery room and inject it with a dozen foreign substances, all in the name of public health. That's crazy.

It isn’t crazy. We are mimicking a process that is as natural to the human body as the heart pumping. I mean, do you object to every intervention which involves ‘foreign substances’ being given to the neonate?

What is laughable is that you are trying to understate the degree to which public health has helped increase human lifespan. The change has been massive. You are just being completely dishonest here or you don’t understand that even when accounting for elevated infant mortality rates that can skew life expectancy data, the life expectancy for those that survived the many childhood diseases was around 50 years old. That doesn’t mention the massive social cost of maiming otherwise healthy people for life with the complications of infectious disease.

Imagine the cost savings if we just mandated what people ate and forced them to exercise.

The entirety of public health is filled with the same decision-making process. The fact that infectious disease is infectious should be the paramount consideration. At this point, the belief that vaccines are worse than the diseases they aim to protect against is a fixed, false belief. It just isn’t true, but the amount of work required to dispel that delusion so voluminous that the only thing remaining is to try to relive periods of the 19th and 20th century all over again.

it seems that's what we're in for. Without trust or a knowledge of history, it's gonna be learning the hard way.

You're welcome to go down to your local PCP and demand all the COVID experimental gene therapy injections you can handle. Tell them I said you're welcome to mine.

These people are also cowards who definitely don’t stand by their convictions when they need help.
