Pneumonia deaths are oddly much higher in FL this year than they are in usual years. Far enough out of balance to suggest that the COVID deaths are being understated.

Are you intimating that people with pneumonia in a hospital setting are purposefully not being tested for Covid?

Or that pneumonia deaths were higher in November through March when we weren’t testing for Rona?

Their numbers fall in line with Texas where deaths have been incredibly low.

If you notice, the narrative has already shifted from deaths to hospitalizations to number of cases. Pretty soon it'll be projected asymptomatic people

Positive anti-body tests are included in new case #s.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a Dem make that accusation since we know the Blue States are most definitely cooking the books, just in the opposite direction.

Absolutely, we have to date, a total of six covid 19 deaths out of 335 cases in our county of 73,000. Of those six deaths, I know only one, an 88 year old man that passed away two weeks ago.

His family is furious that the cause of death on his death certificate was Covid 19.

They have questioned it locally and been told, that determination came from CDC.

The excess deaths tend to disagree with that

Florida has been accused of cooking the books but they do seem to be trending in the right direction
I live here. Have not heard that once.

and this shows the nuance and complexity of how these numbers are being reported. it's ok to look at the numbers, just take them with a grain of salt. i get that cases and deaths are being inflated so i'm really watching the trend. so long as the numbers are being reported relatively consistently, the trend can be somewhat informative. and of course there are problems with the consistency such as pa and nj dumping potential c19 deaths into the count in one lump sum which obviously throws the numbers off.

the weakest of the population died the soonest.
kinda like when any flu strain hits

New viruses have killed the weakest off of every species on this planet since the beginning of time. We are much more prepared to survive these situations but this reality will always exist in some capacity.

For this particular virus, the world should be pushing China’s shite in, but a police officer killed a black guy and OMB so here we are.

I'd have to imagine that they've shortened hospital stays as well which obviously helps keep the system under capacity.

Yep prior to COVID the guidelines for intubation were basically if SaO2 fell below 90% and stayed there we intubated. Now thanks to the increased # of happy hypoxic pt with COVID we are not as quick to intubate. Plus dexamethasone and Remdesivir have both been shown to cut the recovery time from 15 days to 10-11 days in addition to reducing the mortality rate by 30%-40%. Which frees up a lot of resources and saves a lot of lives in the process.

The reddit thread on the 10k new Florida cases. These people are legit insane. What makes it even worse is they truly believe THEY'RE the informed ones. Some even say DeSantis should be charged with murder
