Depends.

What if Trump is caught doing something disqualifying? Should I hold DeSantis accountable to his pledge? Of course not.

Same applies to Trump and the rest of the candidates.

Of course not, but it adds a political hurdle.

You didn’t answer the question. If Trump wins the primary do you think DeSantis should run on a third party ticket?

I support this 100%. When the primary is over, we must unify to defeat the Dems. If a candidate can’t agree to that, they should not have the privilege of even being on the ballot.

So when Trump trounces Desantis will you publicly support Trump?

Nope. And if DeSantis wins, I don’t think Trump should. What I would not do, if it were me, would agree to pledge loyalty to the GOPe.

The gop needs to die almost as much as the democratic party

ETA: for clarity - the parties are what i want to die. I am not wishing death upon any persons.

DeSantis should try it, he will end up like Evan McMullin.

If a candidate did something disqualifying then the political impact of the pledge would be zero, and the political impact is the only teeth it has. If Trump wins and doesn’t do anything disqualifying do you think DeSantis should still run?

So this is all about Trump potentially going third party?

Not happening.

If Trump makes the pledge, yes.

If he doesn’t make the pledge then I won’t support him. He’s either on the team or he isn’t and that’s his choice. I don’t appease people who say “give it to me or I am going to hurt you.”

Sounds rather cultish. Just saying.

Apparently it’s all about being scared to answer a simple question.

It’s a team game. Are the Los Angeles Lakers a cult?

Loyalty isn’t a one way street. I’m not going support the guy who dismisses the idea of him being loyal to the team while at the same time expecting loyalty from the team to him.

I thought I answered your question. DeSantis should try it. He will end up like Evan McMullin.

The point is third party spoiler candidates are highly frowned upon gain zero political capital from doing so. In other words your political career is over after a third party attempt.

It would also guarantee a dem win. If you don’t have a problem with that we have different priorities.

Loyalty

Loyalty and a pledge are not the same thing.

Loyalty is organic and genuine faithfulness to a cause, ideal, custom, institution, person or product.

Cajoling a pledge is not loyalty.

I've seen the elusive triple post before but the 17 posts is amazing.

Then this is all upside for him. He talks about loyalty a lot so we know it’s something he cares about.
