The move could have huge tax implications for Disney, whose series of theme parks have transformed Orlando into one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, and serves to further sour the relationship between the Republican-led government and a major political player in the state.

Meaning more revenue for the area!

The passage in the Florida House comes the day after the Florida Senate passed the measure by a vote of 23-16 to dissolve Disney's special status that it was granted by the state over 50 years ago.

All it needs is Ron’s signature.

Disney should be on their knees, mouth wide open, to prevent this.

This is what the Marxist pretend to not understand.

Disney is not registered to vote.

Disney doesn't have a vote.

One person = One vote.

It's not the United Corporations of America.

Companies should stay out of Politics.

Boy, it's like Ferris Bueller said: Life moves pretty fast.

Disney fricked around; found out.

Starting with campaign contributions. Alphabet and Meta alone can buy anybody. Throw in Pfizer and it's a party.

Chapek made his comments barely a month ago. Sometimes life just comes at you fast.

I think this DeSantis quote here sums up this whole issue, and why this man is a true leader of his state.

quote:

"Look, there’s policy disputes, and that’s fine," DeSantis said earlier this month, "but when you're trying to impose a woke ideology on our state, we view that as a significant threat."

"This wokeness will destroy this country if we let it run unabated," DeSantis added. "So in Florida, we take a very big stand against that."

I would have no issue at all with voting for him if/when he runs for President.

Universal Orlando does not have one of these special statuses. It shows that Ron isn't going to play favorites especially to ones that hate him and try to undermine him.

Disney could have just stayed out of politics and avoided all of this.

FWIW, Universal also didn't push to develop 30+ square miles of swamp land a half-century ago.

Disney should never be involved in politics

Anyone have an estimation of money this would cost Disney per year?

They have been trying to develop areas in and around Orlando proper for about 30+ years now and have had significant headaches and lawsuits with a lot of what they wanted to do because they didn’t have one of these districts.

Yes, they've been doing that for decades, my POE has done it too. That's not what Disney and others are doing today.

? Why didn't they just buy the Florida legislature then.

They want to frick infants - they should pay the whores.

Exactly, they had to purchase land at an absolute premium for their parks. There was no hiding their parks like Disney did.
