This is overstated always. There are a lot of civilian roles in DoW and nonprofits/NGOs who hire people like this. Dude is set for cash, if he works again it’ll probably be something that he actually wants to do. Or he’ll just take the biggest bag offered.

I used to play golf at Barksdale Air Base with a retired colonel. He always said that most officers are good guys until promoted to general and they become assholes. We later played behind a foursome and had to keep waiting on them. Me: 'Why won't a foursome let the 2 of us play through?'
