He was a transient living out of his car. Before the incident he had a altercation with firefighters, because they wanted him to move his car
At the age of 10 his father broke into his house and started beating his mom and maybe him. It probably wasn’t clear on the domestic abuse, because he was a minor. His father said he was going to kill himself in the altercation.
His mother had a restraining order on his dad.
Not just mental illness ran in the family, but it looks like violence did as well.

Can’t be a recent picture. His former roommate noticed him acting weird over 6 months ago. That included him cutting off his long hair.
My guess is he met someone online moved to Idaho to be with them. When it didn’t workout he started living in his car.
