24 hour work week
Most of us barely put in 24 hours of REAL work in a week anyways. I'm on board for most professions. Others, like truck driving, nursing, service industry jobs, this doesn't make sense.

Don’t we all. The question is how are we supposed to earn enough money or be productive enough to merit salaries and benefits only working essentially 3 days/week? Most likely, this would just result in everyone losing their benefits and having to work two jobs (48 hr weeks) instead, rejoice!

Ask an ultra small, homogeneous country how to implement something in a country that is almost 40 times the size with 65 times the population that’s extremely diverse?

People will work more if given the option, especially in the poor parts of the world.
I'm all for letting people lived more balanced lives, plenty of rich people on their death beds regret all the time they missed with their families. I actually think with the two income trap, it's even more vital that we explore ways to reinvest in our families and communities.
However, as long as competition exists, people will work harder than others, and we can't deny this reality. Plenty of rich people on their death beds were happy with the amount of time they put in accumulating wealth.
This idea that we can just cap the number of hours worked per week and then just act like the only consequence is that people work less is crazy. But I won't deny that the sentiment might be in the right place. I wish liberals were smarter. I feel like they advocate for good causes, but they can't get out of their own way.

Relevancy to a shorter work week?

If you read between the lines, the places where it has been done are government jobs. So when someone works less, they hire more people. They get people off of government welfare and generate tax revenue for the government instead.
Tell me how that works in the private sector. The government gets the benefit of people off of welfare and more taxes while the company takes on the additional costs?
Many if the socialist programs being proposed these days “work” in other nations because everyone pays taxes, not just half of the nation.

I just don’t understand how they could ever get anything done with a 24 hour workweek.
Our engineering department frequently has to scramble to make design review deadlines and product delivery even working 60-80 hour weeks for months at times.

How many increased in employment would it take to run a twenty four hour operation with this work hour program?
Who covers the increase in benefits and other issues from increased numbers of employees? Do they increase the hourly wage to compensate for less hours to make a 'living wage'?

The government shouldn't be determining work hours per week. That is between you and your employer. If you want to work 4 days a week, then do it. No one is forcing you to work 5 or more days a week.
