It is the gun the attorneys have been waiting for to help them remove guns from society. They claim this gun will fire on its own. What say you?

As a Sig .40 owner, I can tell you, Sig sucks balls.
Not to mention, no safety on many models including my own.

SIG: "Let's make a striker-fired pistol with Indian MIM components, no thumb safety, and no trigger safety. What could go wrong?"

Sig is not the Sig of old... a lot of their production has been farmed out and the design on these things was an accident waiting to happen...

i had an issue with my p938 and i sent it to them and they fixed it. my old boss had one of the full sized models, the name escapes me, that thing was bad arse.
i love my sig, but i tote my g43. just better to tote and until i have a misfire, i just trust it better. hard to put my life in the hands of a gun i know misfired by defect.
granted, it has not messed up once since.

I'm not saying this is bullshite, but I'm getting a pretty strong whiff of it

Could it be intentional? What a way to finally get Americans behind the push to give up their guns. Yes baws, this gun shoots without notice.

I own a Sig P320 Legion X5 in 9mm. Fired over 30k rounds and not once did it go off on its own. One of my fave pistols.
I would never own a plain P320.

The firing pin block is necessary for striker fired pistols imo.
Which is too bad because I like the P365 otherwise.

Dry fired a 365 macro the other day. The trigger was surprisingly awful.

I would have to see it to believe it.
SIG has really gone downhill. In the past you couldn't really get something better, right out of the box.

Yep

The cases center on the P320 not having an external manual safety, known as a tab trigger. Attorneys bringing the cases say it is a crucial design flaw that makes the gun liable to fire spontaneously, with disastrous consequences.
I don’t see how a trigger safety would prevent these types of discharges. If the gun is in the holster the way they described in the two anecdotes, then the trigger wasn’t the problem.

Every single person involved in that lawsuit was facing on the job disciplinary action for firing their weapon inappropriately. Shockingly, they are blaming the gun. The lack of eyewitnesses is also stunning.
Let's also add that no one has been able to replicate the discharges when witnesses are present and video is running.

I have my suspicions as well.
However, if this gun with its specific design is malfunctioning, I don’t see how this affects the question of gun rights like the OP suggests.
Inadvertent discharges of a type of gun with a design flaw is in no way related to “gun violence”.

I did not click the link but I have seen quite a few videos of the gun going off in holsters.

Fair enough. I don’t doubt that there can be a poor design that causes inadvertent discharge.
My skepticism is based more on the phenomenon of individuals looking for a lawsuit payoff, and riding the coattails of a known mechanical problem.

Saw a video of a cop claiming his P320 went off by itself as he was drawing. You can clearly see his finger inside the trigger guard as it goes off. The only thing this lawsuit is revealing is just how many ND's law enforcement has everyday.
